Dr. David Greenfield is founder of The Center for Internet and Technology Addiction (virtual-addiction.com.) and drdavidgreenfield.com and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on Internet and computer behavior and digital media technology--including it's' use and abuse. Dr. Greenfield's recent work is focused why digital technologies are abused, and in some cases potentially addictive, and how we as a society can use technology in a more balanced and healthy manner. Dr. Greenfield lectures to public and medical/behavioral health groups throughout the world has appeared numerous times on CNN, Good Morning America, The Today Show, CBS Early Show, Fox News, The O'Reilly Report, Anderson Cooper, and NBC News. His work has also been featured in U.S. News and World Report, Business Week, Newsweek, People, Time, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and numerous other popular publications. Dr. Greenfield is the author of "Virtual Addiction" as well as several professional articles and book chapters on Internet, computer and digital behavior and the recent DVD called "Raising Generation D: A guide for parent raising children in the digital age." Dr. Greenfield is a fellow and past-president of the Connecticut Psychological Association; he maintains his home and clinical practice of Psychological and Behavioral Medicine and Addictions treatment in Connecticut and conducts research, training, consultation, and lectures throughout the world on the impact of, Internet, Smartphone, and Digital Media Technology use and compulsion.
