Hellboy's Ron Perlman is heading back to a familiar genre in the horror comedy Horrified. He joins an impressive cast that also includes Dexter alum Julie Benz and Mean Girls star Busy Philipps.
Deadline reports that Benz plays a horror genre icon who decides to hit the convention circuit in order to make some quick money. However, the one-time scream queen will unexpectedly find herself and her fans terrorized by a serial killer wearing the same grotesque pig mask from her movies.
Horrified will be the feature directorial debut for filmmaker Michael Zara, who has also penned the screenplay. Zara got his start as a staff writer and story editor for three seasons on the TNT drama series Major Crimes. He previously delved into the horror genre for the Syfy original movie Letters to Satan Claus, about a journalist (played by Wynonna Earp: Vengeance actor Karen Knox) whose return...

In 2018, Taylor Sheridan premiered the hit neo-Western drama Yellowstone, which ran for five seasons on Paramount until Dec. 2024. The original series was a major success, which later expanded into several spin-offs.
The franchise boasts star-studded names for all its projects, and it started with Western icon Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, and Wes Bentley. In 2021, the first prequel series, 1883, premiered. Almost four years later, 1883 has become a hit on Netflix, Tudum reports.
For the week of Mar. 10 and 16, Yellowstone's first prequel, 1883, made its debut on Netflix. Although it's not available on the streaming platform in the U.S., as Paramount Pictures streams it on its platform, Paramount+, the spinoff series became a hit globally.
The ten-episode spinoff received 2.9 million views globally, and reached the Top 10 in 34 countries across the world. It entered the Top 10 in seventh place, just ahead of Ms. Rachel Season 1, American Murder: Gabby Petito, and the limited series Toxic Town.

As movies like Bone Tomahawk and Tremors 4 have proven, horror and Westerns are two great tastes that taste great together. I always like to hear that another horror / Western blend is in the works – so I was glad to see The Hollywood Reporter announce that the folk horror thriller The Wolf and the Lamb, which is set “during the western expansion of the 1870s,” is coming our way. Cassandra Scerbo of the Sharknado franchise and Adrianne Palicki of The Orville star in the film, which is currently in production, with filming taking place in Montana.
The Wolf and the Lamb marks the feature writing and directing debut of Michael Schilf. Scerbo is taking on the role of a widowed school teacher searching for her only son, who is the latest child to go missing in a tight-knit mining camp. But when the son miraculously returns, he is more monster than man.

Taylor Sheridan’s dedication to authenticity is unmatched, and he proved just how far he was willing to go for his art during the filming of a scene for his Yellowstone prequel series titled 1883. He actually risked a lot for this 2021 miniseries starring Sam Elliott & Tim McGraw to capture a pivotal scene, adding an unparalleled layer of authenticity to the gripping tale.

The genius behind the cultural phenomenon of Yellowstone has not only given us a riveting portrayal of the Dutton family’s legacy, with coming attractions like the sequel show tentatively named 2024 but also two enthralling prequels—1883 and 1923.
Earlier this year, in an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Sheridan shared some fascinating insights into the real history of the Wild West in the late 1800s that served as the inspiration for 1883.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for 1883.
1883 star Eric Nelsen reflects on filming his character's death in the Yellowstone prequel show, recalling just how emotional it was on set that day. First released on Paramount Plus last year and now airing on Paramount Network, 1883 follows James Dutton (Tim McGraw) and his family as they make the trek from Texas to Oregon, eventually establishing the Yellowstone ranch in Montana. The show features a handful of hard-hitting character deaths throughout its ten-episode run, but the death of Nelsen's Ennis in episode 5 is a particularly powerful moment in the show.
Now, in a recent interview with TVLine, Nelsen reflects on what it was like to film Ennis' death scene in 1883. The star recalls emotions running especially high on set that day, largely due to Isabel May's strong performance as Elsa Dutton. Lamonica Garrett, who plays Thomas in the show, reveals that the emotion even...

True to its lineage as part of the Dutton-verse, Yellowstone prequel 1883 delivered a big audience for the start of its cable run.
The Paramount+ series, which premiered in late 2021, is getting a full-season run on Paramount Network over the summer, and it drew a lot of eyeballs for its June 18 debut on the cable outlet. The two-episode premiere drew 3.8 million viewers on its first night, including replays and simulcasts on five other Paramount Global cable channels. The two episodes on Paramount Network averaged 1.52 million viewers, and simulcasts on Comedy Central, CMT, MTV, Pop and TV Land added about a million more to each episode. Replays contributed the rest.
That’s a strong showing, particularly considering that 1883 has been available to stream in its entirety for more than a year. In fact, were it a new series, it would be the most watched scripted debut on cable since The Walking Dead: World Beyond...

Warning: the following contains Spoilers for 1883.Does Elsa get pregnant in 1883? The Yellowstone prequel never clarified whether Elsa (Isabel May) and Ennis (Eric Nelsen) consummating their relationship in 1883 season 1, episode 5 “The Fangs of Freedom" resulted in Elsa getting pregnant. Because it happened within earshot of the camp, the deed was heard by Elsa's mother Margaret (Faith Hill), who spoke with Elsa about actions and consequences the next day. Indeed, as there are no condoms or any other reliable form of birth control in the frontier, there's a real possibility that Ennis really did impregnate Elsa.
Sadly, before 1883 could even drop any clues that Elsa was pregnant, Ennis died in the next episode while Elsa died during the finale. Most notably, it was revealed that Elsa herself chose her own grave site, around which James (Tim McGraw) and Margaret Dutton founded the ranch so they could visit her grave. Considering Elsa's...
