- Denis studied music (Composition and History of Music) in NUI Maynooth and completed the UCLA certified Screen Training Ireland course in Film Scoring.
In early 1998 Denis' first professional engagement was producing string arrangements for the band 'The Prayerboat' on their internationally critically acclaimed album 'Polichinelle'. He went on to perform keyboards for the band as a guest musician over the next two years.
Around this time Denis started composing music for film. His work includes 'Older Than Ireland' (Snack Box Films), the award winning 'His and Hers' (Venom films),' The Irish Pub' (Atom Films), 'The Reluctant Revolutionary' (Underground Films) and 'The Land of the Enlightened' (Savage Film/Fastnet Films) and 'In View' (Underground Cinema). He has also composed for numerous short films including the multi award winning 'Undressing My Mother' (Venom Film) and recently his first animated film 'Fresh Cut Grass' (Boulder Media).
Denis's television work includes 'From Tee to Green - The Story of Irish Golf' (Tilted Pictures), 'The Limits of Liberty' (South Wind Blows) performed by the RTE Concert Orchestra, the Barry McGuigan story 'In Sunshine or in Shadow' (Fastnet Films) and the birth of a nation trilogy 'The Treaty 1921', 'The Siege 1922' and 'The Nation' (Fastnet Films).
