1985 to 1990 research assistant at Saarland University, 1990 to 1994 official at the European Commission, Brussels; 1993 to 1994 Secretary General of the EC Administrative Commission on Social Security for Migrant Workers, since 1994 on leave of absence.
Member of the Junge Union since 1974; member of the CDU since 1976; Chairman of the Saarlouis District CDU Association since 2000; member of the State Executive Committee of the Saar CDU since 1991.
