- Former husband of music director Usha Khanna.
- Came to Bombay on 1965 to be an actor. When he failed to get roles, he produced a film with Sanjeev Kumar. He is the one who gave Sanjeev Kumar his screen name.
- Was to direct a film with Amitabh Bachchan in 1970 titled " Mirza Ghalib". Co starring Yogita Bali. The film was shelved due to financial reasons.
- Was briefly engaged to actress Radha Bartake in the early 80's.
- In 1983 he launched a film titled Love Income and Tax.
- Was planning a film titled " Aasman Chup Hain" in 1982. It dropped the idea.
- He served as the President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) from 2003 to 2004.
- His nephew is distributor and producer Naveen Tak.
