Hollywood powerhouse Robert De Niro has had a few projects released this year, but one has quietly flown under the radar. His first release of the year was Netflix's political thriller miniseries, Zero Day, which was soon followed by the Warner Bros. gangster feature The Alto Knights. But the project you might not have heard of is Tin Soldier, an action thriller directed by Brad Furman that's had a rocky road to release. Superman is set to feature multiple superheroes beyond the titular Man of Steel. Batman, however, will not be one of them.
After a fan asked Superman writer-director James Gunn, who is also co-ceo of DC Studios, on Threads, if the plan was still for Batman's live-action DC Universe debut to be in his solo movie, The Brave and the Bold, the filmmaker simply responded, "Yes." This means that Batman will also not make a cameo in Supergirl or Clayface, the latter of which is centered around one of the hero's more recognizable rogues, who will be portrayed by Doctor Who guest star Tom Rhys Harries.

Starz subscribers cannot get enough of the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise. Fast X, the tenth mainline entry in the fan-favorite action series, is currently charting on multiple Top 10 streaming lists around the world.
Per Collider, Fast X is currently available to stream on Starz in the United States and for purchase via iTunes in most international territories. During its theatrical run, the action sequel failed to gross over $1 billion worldwide like its predecessors, Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious, earning $714 million at the box office, an amazing amount that any studio wouldn't have scoffed at. Unfortunately, Fast X had a reported production budget of $378 million, meaning that Universal barely made any profit on the movie. Alan Ritchson lit the world on fire earlier this year with his performance in Reacher, but a few years ago, the action star led a blockbuster thriller that’s returned to streaming charts. Ritchson features alongside Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, and Jason Statham in Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, following Hernan Reyes (Momoa), who targets Dom Toretto (Diesel) and his family. Fast X is streaming on Starz in the U.S., and it’s available to purchase via iTunes in most international territories. The film is charting globally, entering the top 10 in several countries, including Hong Kong, Mozambique, Ghana, and more. Fast X earned a “rotten” 56% from critics and an 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $704 million at the box office against a $340 million budget, narrowly crossing its break-even point.

What do you get when you put Scott Eastman, Jamie Foxx, and Robert De Niro in a heated trifecta between the government, highly-trained combat veterans, and a cult-like movement that could spell disaster for innocents? The Brad Furman action thriller Tin Soldier, of course! Today, Samuel Goldwyn Films and Amazon MGM Studios proudly present an explosive trailer for Tin Soldier, bringing high stakes, bad attitudes, and cool hair to a genre that never quits.
Scripted by Furman and Jess Fuerst, the film has the following synopsis: The Bokushi (Foxx) preaches to hundreds of veterans who have been drawn to the promise of protection and purpose under him. Surrounded by his devout, military-trained followers, he has built an impenetrable fortress and amassed an arsenal of weapons. "An extreme threat, requires extreme measures..." Signature Ent. in the UK has unveiled an official trailer for an action thriller movie titled Tin Soldier, the latest directed by Brad Furman. This is another one of these really bad, schlocky action movies that's getting dumped on VOD right away because it's just so uninteresting. There's still no US release set, but it will be out on Prime Video in the UK (only) this summer. "The Bokushi" offers a program for US combat veterans seeking their "purpose" and path forward. But now the Government is concerned with the rapid rise of this well-armed, highly trained program of elite mercenaries, so they recruit one who used to be a member to infiltrate & stop them. Starring Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, Scott Eastwood, John Leguizamo, Joey Bicicchi, and Rita Ora. That's a remarkably strong cast for a movie being dumped on VOD, no idea how they pulled this off.

"Chicago Fire" is a little different from your average procedural, with firefighters and paramedics at the center of the story instead of detectives, lawyers, or quirky private investigators. Over the course of the show's 13 seasons, we've gotten to know a whole incredible crew of people at the fictional Firehouse 51 in Chicago, but if the series gets a 14th season, at least one familiar face won't be returning. "Chicago Fire" fans have lost their faves before, like when Otis (Yuri Sardanov) died in season 8, but now they'll also have to say goodbye to firefighter Darren Ritter (who's played by actor Daniel Kyri).
Darren has had an interesting ride on "Chicago Fire," starting as a firefighter candidate and becoming one of the firefighters on Engine 51. As an openly gay man, he shook things up a bit around the firehouse, giving Kyri the chance to really embrace his own queer identity and abandon...

Charlie Hunnam will always be known for his role as Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller in Sons of Anarchy, but many years ago, he also famously passed on a role in a major franchise that’s returned to streaming. Hunnam initially accepted the role of Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movies, but he ended up dropping out and being replaced by Jamie Dornan, who starred opposite Dakota Johnson in the films. All three Fifty Shades movies recently hit Peacock at the start of this month, and they’re now available to watch for anyone with a standard subscription to the streamer. The Fifty Shades of Grey movies collectively earned over $1.3 billion at the global box office, but their earnings declined with each film after starting with $570 million and finishing with $372 million.

Exactly three years ago this month, back in May of 2022, production began on an action thriller called Tin Soldier, with director Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) at the helm and a lead cast consisting of Scott Eastwood (Alarum), Robert De Niro (Taxi Driver), and Jamie Foxx (Ray). You’d think a project like that would have an easy ride out into the world – but Deadline reports that it has only just now secured North American distribution through Samuel Goldwyn Films. Tin Soldier is one step closer to marching onto screens. The previously in-limbo action-thriller has received a long-awaited update, three years after production on the movie got underway. Samuel Goldwyn Films has snagged the North American distribution rights to the film, per Deadline, following hot on the heels of another high-profile distribution deal the company has secured in recent months. The highly anticipated Tin Solider, which stars big names like Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, and Scott Eastwood, is expected to debut sometime this year, so hopefully a release date won't be far behind now that it has officially been picked up.

Clint Eastwood is the quintessential Western star, known for his steely gaze and quick draw, who went on to become one of the greatest directors of all time. He holds the record for being the oldest to win the Oscar for Best Director, receiving the award at the age of ripe old age of 74 for the boxing weepie "Million Dollar Baby." 20 years later, Eastwood is still making movies; at the age of 93, he released the intense courtroom drama "Juror #2." He also has a son, Scott Eastwood, who's taking advantage of his familial status by being featured in his dad's movies.

It’s truly a sad event for a fan when one of the most promising movies of the 80s never made it to the big screens, all because of a location request. That’s right, the same happened with Sgt. Rock. The movie has Arnold Schwarzenegger as the lead, and the creative powerhouse team behind Die Hard to back it up.
With such a dream lineup, it was already promising to be a massive hit, but behind the scenes, a surprising twist derailed it all, and it also had a unique Clint Eastwood connection.
How did Clint Eastwood accidentally derail an Arnold Schwarzenegger blockbuster?
All the way back in the 1980s, Hollywood was all set to make a big action-packed movie called Sgt. Rock based on the popular DC comics character. Everything seemed to be on the right track with Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the biggest action stars of the time,...

Colleen Hoover is one of the most popular contemporary romance authors, rising to fame thanks to novels like Ugly Love, Confess, and Slam. However, Hoover's popularity skyrocketed in 2024 with the release of It Ends With Us, the adaptation of her bestselling 2016 novel.
Although It Ends With Us ended up being a widely controversial project because of the legal battle between director, producer, and star Justin Baldoni and lead actress Blake Lively, the movie was a box office hit. The film received mixed reviews from the critics, but the audience enjoyed it and grossed $349.7 million at the worldwide box office against a modest $25 million budget. More adaptations are on the way, and Deadline revealed that Universal's adaptation of Reminders of Him has just added Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham to the cast.

We first heard about plans for a live-action Pacific Rim series last year, and we now have confirmation that the project is moving forward at Amazon Prime Video.
Variety reports that the show is being developed as part of a deal between lead studio Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios. Eric Heisserer will serve as writer and executive producer under his Chronology banner.
Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but we do know that the untitled series will serve as a prequel to the movies. Apparently, "there is still the potential for new films in the franchise as well."

If there’s one thing the Fast and Furious franchise has mastered, it’s reinvention. What started in 2001 as a movie about street racing and DVD player heists somehow morphed into a billion-dollar saga where cars fly, submarines chase Lamborghinis, and Vin Diesel defeats helicopters with a pair of Dodge Chargers. Over 10 movies (and counting), we’ve seen everything from rooftop chases in Rio to family barbecues that feel just as intense as the action scenes.
And through it all, Dom Toretto has reminded us, repeatedly, in case we forgot, that nothing is more important than family.
Of course, not every Fast & Furious movie is a nitrous-fueled masterpiece. Some entries turned the franchise into cinematic gold, while others, well, let’s just say they were running on fumes. The early movies were all about the underground racing scene, but as the franchise grew, so did its ambitions. By Fast Five,...

The "One Chicago" franchise is sprawling, and every once in a while, a character on one of its shows leaves for some reason or another. It might be to make room for fresh faces, create drama and tension, or simply because the actor in question wants to test their wings elsewhere. In some cases, this is monumental. Jesse Lee Soffer's Jay Halstead leaving "Chicago P.D." in 2022 was a huge moment that stripped the show of one of its favorite characters. Likewise, Yuri Sardanov's Otis exiting "Chicago Fire" in season 8 ranks among the franchise's most dramatic moments.
However, sometimes the departure isn't defined by the character's popularity but by the premature nature of the occasion. One of the best examples involves Clint Eastwood's son Scott Eastwood, who played Officer Jim Barnes in two "Chicago Fire" season 1 episodes ("Leaders Lead" and "Let Her Go"). As it happens, these were setting...

The feature-length adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel, Reminders of Him, is picking up steam, as it’s found its leading man. Tyriq Withers, who fans will recognize from his recurring roles on Hulu’s Tell Me Lies and Paramount+’s The Game, has officially been cast to star opposite Longlegs, and It Follows’ Maika Monroe. The project is set to be helmed by Vanessa Caswill (Love at First Sight), with Hoover working alongside writer Lauren Levine to pen the screenplay. I’m a sucker for a good vampire film, whether it features a sexy vampire like Bram Stoker’s Dracula or a nasty one like 30 Days of Night. But one of my personal favorite tales about bloodsuckers is an underrated 2010 release by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig titled Daybreakers. Boasting an all-star cast and an interesting twist on vampire lore, it didn’t make waves upon initial release. And yet, I still find myself banging the proverbial drum for this film, especially today, because the movie is now streaming for free on Vizio WatchFree+.
Daybreakers takes place in 2019 (ten years in the future upon the film’s initial release) where a plague has transformed a majority of the human population into vampires. But without any humans from which to feed, the vampires are now facing a food crisis. Ethan Hawke plays Edward Dalton, a hematologist working on creating a blood substitute to save humanity.

One of the best movies in the repertoire of Jason Statham is all set to hit free streaming. The action star continues to fight the good fight for no-nonsense thrills, but 2021’s Wrath of Man is a little more complex than The Stath’s usual fare. The actor has become well-known for his particular set of skills, expertly throwing his fists, feet and bullets at anyone who dares cross his path, but his movies are often divisive among critics and audiences. Well, this action thriller finds the two groups in agreement: it’s great.
Directed by Guy Ritchie in his fourth collaboration with Jason Statham, and co-written by Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, and Marn Davies, Wrath of Man boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Chris Reilly, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, DeObia Oparei, Eddie Marsan, and Scott Eastwood. Since its 2014 debut, Chicago P.D.has been both praised and ridiculed for its devotion to “old-school” cop show tropes. Its mix of action and character development has charmed its respectable fanbase, and its innate star power helped it grow. Aside from its talented cast, NBC’s procedural darling also boasts writing from Law & Order’s Dick Wolf.
Of course, as a procedural, nobody is “safe.” Chicago P.D.’s characters are in constant danger. They face down the city’s most ruthless criminals and often sacrifice their own comfort to protect the public. By extension, the show’s cast lineup is always evolving.
In fact, the show had already lost some stars by the end of its first episode. Scott Eastwood famously leftChicago P.D. to focus on feature films. One of its stars, Melissa Sagemiller, walked away before filming began. More recently, in 2023, Halstead’s actress, Tracy Spiridakos, announced her departure.
