‘Fortnite’ Partners With ‘Bob’s Burgers,’ ‘Family Guy’ and ‘King of the Hill’ for Father’s Day Promotion
Image
Bob Belcher, Cleveland Brown and Hank Hill are coming to “Fortnite.” via a Father’s Day-themed promotion with 20th Television Animation, the studio announced Friday. “Fortnite” players will be able to purchase items as either a bundle or via a la carte.

The partnership is a key moment of synergy: Disney’s 20th TV Animation is behind all three shows, and Disney has a $1.5 billion stake in “Fortnite” owner Epic Games.

Here’s how the “Fortnite” in-game event is being promoted: “Maybe you’re a Bob – serving puns rarer than your burgers. Or a Hank? Passionate about propane and silently judging uneven lawns. Or maybe you’re a Cleveland – you love minor league baseball and hats and ooze classic dad charm.”

Bob Belcher, of course, comes from “Bob’s Burgers” and is voiced by H. Jon Benjamin. “Family Guy’s” Cleveland Brown is voiced by Arif Zahir. And the Hank Hill...

Deadpool & Wolverine Almost Had A Different Boy Band In Its Opening Scene
Image
One of the most iconic scenes in Deadpool &Wolverine was the dance/fight sequence set to the Nsync song "Bye Bye Bye," which was a massive hit in 2000. However, a song by a different pop group was initially considered for the opening scene.

Speaking to MovieWeb, the film's editors, Dean Zimmerman and Shane Reid said a song by the Backstreet Boys was one of the initial picks along with several other tunes. "It actually started with Kenny Rogers' song 'The Gambler,' which all of our pre-vis was cut to," Reid explained. However, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and director Shawn Levy didn't think it was the right fit. "At a certain point, the film took on a different language. The song didn't quite work with the same energy that we wanted that scene to have."

Deadpool & Wolverine Editors are Optimistic About Deadpool 4
Image
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are remaining tight-lipped about their MCU futures following Deadpool & Wolverine. The mega-blockbuster was a heartfelt send-off to Fox's X-Men universe, featuring some immensely popular legacy characters from the superhero genre, and closing with an emotional montage of BTS footage from various X-Men films. While Reynolds and Jackman are taking their time planning their MCU futures, Shane Reid and Dean Zimmerman, the editors of Deadpool & Wolverine, are optimistic that the on-screen pair will return for a fourth movie.

During an interview with MovieWeb to celebrate Deadpool & Wolverine's release on home video and DVD, Dean Zimmerman and Shane Reid expressed their unfiltered excitement about making a fourth Deadpool movie. While most actors, directors, and creatives are hesitant to attach their names to prospective projects too early, Zimmerman and Reid held nothing back. The moment the question about a fourth film was posed, Dean Zimmerman quickly riposted with,...

Marvel Studios Tease Deadpool & Wolverine's Hilarious DVD Blooper Reel
Image
Deadpool & Wolverine will soon be coming home, and it's bringing a whole host of DVD extras along for the ride. While MCU fans will be happy about more Deadpool & Wolverine content no matter which form it comes in, it's the blooper reel that has audiences most excited. Ryan Reynolds previously teased the film's blooper reel, saying that there will be countless alt takes to the movie's best jokes in the compilation. Thanks to Entertainment Tonight, fans have their first look at the incredibly explicit outtakes, and it more than lives up to the hype.

The teaser for the gag reel pulls no punches, opening with the scene where Deadpool (Reynolds) introduces himself to Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) in the Tva. The version in the final cut of the movie is already ripe with innuendo, but the version in the gag reel blows right past that, toeing the line...

X-Men Star Sophie Turner Explains Jean Grey's Absence in Deadpool & Wolverine
Image
Deadpool & Wolverine featured tons of exciting cameos from many of the past Fox Marvel films, and it surely appeared nobody was off-limits regarding a surprise appearance in the film. However, a prominent star in the Fox X-Men films recently shared why she didn't make an appearance, and addressed whether she will ever return in any other future Marvel projects.

While promoting her upcoming miniseries, Joan, Sophie Turner recently sat down for an interview with Variety, in which the star was asked about whether there were any serious talks regarding a possible cameo in the blockbuster hit Deadpool & Wolverine. Turner appeared as Jean Grey in both X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix before Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019. After the acquisition, the X-Men universe that existed at Fox essentially died, as Marvel Studios now had the rights to the franchise. However, that didn't stop stars like Aaron Stanford, Dafne Keen...

'Thanks, Kev': Ryan Reynolds Recalls Kevin Feige's Deadpool & Wolverine Advice
Image
Deadpool & Wolverine continues to bask in its box-office glory thanks, in part, to Ryan Reynolds' scene-stealing performance as the "Merc With a Mouth." Reynolds has Marvel president Kevin Feige to thank for the added motivation thanks to a piece of advice he received from him early in the creative process.

Speaking with Deadline, Reynolds recalled what Feige said to him during an early meeting for the third Deadpool installment and the first under the Marvel Cinematic Universe banner. Feige offered just four words of advice for his leading man, but those words proved profound. He said something that sounds very pedantic and is probably not the thing to say out loud, but actually, weirdly, served as a creative engine. He was like, Make every scene great. Along the way, the pair are joined by some long-time fan favorites and exciting new additions, including Blade (Wesley Snipes), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), and Gambit (Channing Tatum). All four of the supporting heroes are confirmed to have survived the events of Deadpool & Wolverine, meaning there's a chance we could see them again in the future.

Summer Box Office Season Concludes with Lackluster Labor Day Weekend
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to shake the money tree as the summertime gives way to Labor Day. And, for the fifth time in the last six weekends, Deadpool & Wolverine is the No. 1 movie at the box office. With the exception of Alien: Romulus debuting at No. 1 during its own respective premiere, Marvel Jesus has walked on water and dominated alongside Inside Out 2 in what will go down in history as one of the most disappointing summer movie seasons since 2005! And newcomers like Reagan, AfrAId, 1992 and Slingshot contributed very little to a summer that will end with an estimated total of $3.6 billion when the four-day holiday comes to a close.

So, with the exception of the years affected by the Covid-19 pandemic (2020-2022), 2024 marks the worst summer movie season since Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith opened in theaters back in 2005 (per Box Office Mojo) nearly 20 years ago.

The Punisher Actor Reveals If Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo Was Considered
Image
Before the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, there were many rumors circulating about potential cameos that ultimately didn't come to be. One of them was an appearance from The Punisher star Thomas Jane, but despite the rumors, Jane was never actually approached for a cameo.

Jane discussed his absence in Deadpool & Wolverine during a recent interview with The Direct. He confirmed that he wasn't contacted about returning as Frank Castle for the film, but as he's a big fan of what Jon Bernthal has since done with the character, Jane feels it's better anyway to leave his version of Frank in the past. Even so, that doesn't mean Jane is opposed to returning to the Marvel fold in a different role.

While at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 to speak about his new Peacock series Hysteria!, Campbell explained to ComicBook.com that Pizza Poppa was absent in Deadpool & Wolverine because the character is in a "different timeline." Wesley Snipes' surprise scene in Deadpool & Wolverine left Blade fans in a pleasant uproar. Ryan Reynolds said the response to Snipes' return is a blatant greenlight for another Blade installment.
