Jason Benoit is a WGA screenwriter and producer whose work spans studio features, streamers, and indie film. He most recently produced Playdate for Amazon MGM Studios and Half Brothers for Focus Features and Universal Pictures. As a writer, he has developed projects for Amazon, Netflix, Sony, 20th Century, eOne, and Miramax, and is known in the industry for both original screenplays and production rewrites.
Jason began his career at ICM Partners and later worked with Scott Aversano, former president of MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies, where he deepened his development experience across both comedy and elevated genre films. He has also worked as a story analyst for producers and studios, sharpening his narrative instincts from the ground up.
Originally from Dallas, Jason attended both Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts and Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, graduating with a BFA in Film. He was an early standout in broadcast journalism, winning over 70 state and national awards, including two Broadcast Pacemaker Awards from the National Scholastic Press Association.
Jason is a member of the Writers Guild of America and continues to write, produce, and collaborate across a wide slate of film and television projects.
