- For two years Lisa and her husband had all five sons in college at the same time. As of 2008, they have four left in college, two of which will be doctors.
- Her oldest son is married to a chef at a five star restaurant.
- Very close to her family, Lisa is also close to her grown stepchildren who she refers to as her bonus family. They include her husband's triplet sons and his daughter, her husband and two grandchildren. One of the triplets is married and the other two soon will be.
- Raised on a sugarcane plantation in southern St. James Parish, Louisiana, Lisa and her husband John moved a cotton/corn/soybean/milo/wheat farm in northern Louisiana in 2007.
- The youngest of eight children which include six girls and two boys and their ages span over twenty-one years. She has a nephew that is nine months older than she is and a niece that is just one day younger.
