Advisor to the Thuringian parliamentary group BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN; employee of MdB.

No party affiliation in the GDR; active in the Solidarity Church. 1989 member of Demokratischer Aufbruch, 1990 in Demokratie Jetzt, in Bündnis 90 and BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN, member of the Bundessprecherrat of Bündnis 90, member of the state executive committee of Bündnis 90 and BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN, 1991-1994 parliamentary group chairwoman in the district council, 1995-1998 and since 2002 state spokeswoman in Thuringia, from 1996-1998 associate member of the federal executive committee.

Member of the Bundestag since 1998; October 1998 to 2002 Deputy Parliamentary Secretary, 2002 1st Parliamentary Secretary of the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group, October 2002 to September 2005 Chairwoman of the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group.
