Jesse Collins Entertainment Names New Execs: John Wehage Boards As Head Of Production & Karen Grant-Selma Joins As Head Of Business & Legal Affairs

Jesse Collins Entertainment President Dionne Harmon announced today that John Wehage has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Head of Production of the full-service Emmy-winning production company. Karen Grant-Selma will lead the company’s in-house legal team as Executive Vice President, Head of Business & Legal Affairs. Both will report to Harmon.

Wehage will oversee the physical production of all of the company’s specials, scripted and unscripted television content. With a career spanning over two decades, he has had various leadership positions across a variety of formats spanning hundreds of hours of programming including stage, live, competition, docu-follow, gameshow, digital, documentary and adventure programming. Most recently with Scout Productions, he contributed to the success of acclaimed shows such as Legendary (HBO Max), The Hype (HBO Max), Merpeople (Netflix), The Secrets of Hillsong (FX), The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning (Peacock) and the Emmy Award winning Queer Eye (Netflix).

Yanina Molina Joins Jesse Collins Entertainment As VP of Unscripted Production

Exclusive: As Jesse Collins Entertainment is ramping up unscripted production, CEO Jesse Collins has brought in ViacomCBS Director of Production Yanina Molina as VP of Unscripted Production.

She will oversee the production of all unscripted content and specials. Jce, best known as longtime producer of awards shows such as the BET Awards and Soul Train Awards, also is behind such unscripted series as Facebook Watch’s Cardi Tries, which is heading into its second season, as well as competition/game shows Hip Hop Squares and Rhythm & Flow, specials John Lewis: Celebrating A Hero and Amanda Seales I Be Knowin’, along with scripted miniseries such as The New Edition Story and The Bobby Brown Story.

This year has been big for Collins. In addition to executive producing the recent 2021 BET Awards through Jce, he also co-executive produced the Grammy Awards, The 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show and produced The 2021 Academy Awards.

It's been a rather challenging couple of weeks for Ke$ha, the party-pop princess who has — for reasons not entirely clear to her — become the preferred punching bag for certain bloggers.

It all started with her April 17 performance on "Saturday Night Live," a DayGlo-and-laser-beam-enhanced set that was criticized by some as being perhaps the "worst ever" musical moment on the "SNL" set. That only gave more ammo to avowed Ke$ha haters like Perez Hilton, who had previously called her live performances "horrid."
