A Big Win For A Small Market As Oklahoma City Thunder Clinches NBA Championship
Image
The NBA Finals came to a close Sunday with a big win for one of the smallest of small-market teams in the league: the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Make no mistake, though the market may be small the team led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was mighty. Gilgeous-Alexander, the league Mvp, was named the Finals Mvp after the Thunder’s 103-91 victory over the Indiana Pacers in the deciding Game 7.

The Pacers, who had taken a 2-1 lead in the series and then had to force a Game 7 with a Game 6 win, lost Tyrese Haliburton early Sunday with an Achilles injury; the superstar guard was already playing through a calf strain he suffered during Game 5. Haliburton did not return, and the Thunder controlled most of the rest of the game.

Adl Blasts Kyrie Irving: “The Answer To The Question ‘Do You Have Any Antisemitic Beliefs’ Is Always No”
Image
One day after he issued a carefully-worded statement that stopped short of the words “I’m sorry” in relation to a link he posted to an antisemitic film, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving was asked at practice today whether he holds any antisemitic views.

“Again, I’m going to repeat. I don’t know how the label becomes justified because you guys ask me the same questions over and over again,” Irving said. “But this is not going to turn into a spin-around cycle — questions upon questions.

“I told you guys how I felt. I respect all walks of life and embrace all walks of life. That’s where I sit…I cannot be antisemitic if I know where I come from.”

Asked directly for a “yes” or “no” answer to the question about his views Irving repeated, “I cannot be antisemitic if I know where I come from,” evading a definitive “yes” or “no.

Basketball Wives (2010)
New Basketball Wives, New Drama (Photos)
Basketball Wives (2010)
The past three seasons of Miami-filmed "Basketball Wives" have been filled with physical drama. NBA players' former lovers, ex-wives, baby mamas, and fiancés -- rarely any actual wives -- have repeatedly come to blows on the Vh1 reality series. It's why audiences keep tuning in -- over 4 million viewers watched the season three reunion.

In one episode, Evelyn Lozada (current fiancé of Chad Ochocinco and former fiancé of Antonie Walker) and Royce Reed (baby mama of Dwight Howard) threw cocktails in each other's faces. In another, Tami Roman (ex-wife of Kenny Anderson) popped Meeka Claxton (wife of Speedy) in the face.

Season four of "Basketball Wives", which premieres February 2012, is likely to have even more violence and drama. One of two new cast members is Kenya Bell, a former Miss Michigan who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Last May, she reportedly stabbed her then-husband Charlie Bell...

As HollywoodLife.com previously told you, we spotted Kenya getting buddy-buddy with Jennifer Williams and Suzie Ketcham at Jennifer's Lucid Lipgloss launch party in NYC on Nov. 15. NBA Free Agency Features LeBron James, Friend Of Musical Free Agency All-Star Drake
Not only is today Canada Day, but it also represents the first day of the free agency period in the NBA. Under normal circumstances, that's not such a big deal, as it just means that dudes who were already rich are going to get more money for wearing a different shirt in a different city. But this year is different because the crop of available free agents is the greatest it has ever been, and the contract decisions made over the next month could drastically change the face of the NBA for the next decade. The crop of players seeking new contracts includes LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudemire and Paul Pierce. Even the second-tier players available (dudes like David Lee, Carlos Boozer, Richard Jefferson, Rudy Gay and Ray Allen) could change the complexion of a team on the brink or a squad looking to rebuild.
