Jack Dairiki

Jack Dairiki was born in Sacramento. In 1941 his father took him on a trip to visit family in Hiroshima. As it turned out they took the last peace-time boat before Pearl Harbor, so, with no way to return to the US, he spent the remainder of World War II living in Hiroshima. After the war, he returned to the US where he speaks occasionally about his experiences as a Hibakusha - one who has lived through the atomic bombing of Japan.
