‘V/H/S/85’ Brings the Found Footage Franchise Back to Blu-ray in February

The V/H/S franchise took a twisted trip back to the 1980s with V/H/S/85 on Shudder this past Halloween season, and the Bd-produced horror movie comes to Blu-ray next month.

You can grab V/H/S/85 on DVD and Blu-ray beginning February 27, via Rlje Films.

V/H/S/85 Director Scott Derrickson Reveals His Part Is Set in The Black Phone Universe

Director Scott Derrickson confirms that his segment in V/H/S/85 takes place in the same universe as his 2021 horror film, The Black Phone. The Black Phone, based on a story by Joe Hill, was a hit and earned over $160 million at the box office. Derrickson's segment in V/H/S/85 features an interesting connection to Gwen from The Black Phone.

Director Scott Derrickson has confirmed that his segment in the upcoming horror outing V/H/S/85 takes place in the same universe as his 2021 horror film, The Black Phone. The popular Blumhouse mystery thriller is based on a story by Joe Hill and starred Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, E. Roger Mitchell, Troy Rudeseal, James Ransone, and Miguel Mora. The Black Phone follows 13-year-old Finney Blake (played by Thames) who is abducted by a disturbing child killer (played by Hawke) and locked in a soundproof basement.

The film stars Freddy Rodriguez as Wayne Johnson, a detective investigating a series of murders while on the trail of a serial killer, and features different tales directed by a group of talented directors. The five featured segments include a boy fixated on his TV, kids on a lake skiing adventure, a TV crew fighting to survive a natural disaster, the early days of VR, and a deadly dream captured on tape. The film will premiere at Fantastic Fest and stream on Shudder later this year.

The horror anthology show Culture Shock is from is called Into The Dark from Blumhouse Productions and as far as I can tell hasn’t yet been showed or released on any format in the U.K. Which is a big shame because it sounds great.

Into The Dark: Culture Shock Trailer Features an Ominous Version of the American Dream

A Mexican woman's border crossing into the United States takes a creepy turn into an eerily utopian society where all may not be what it seems in the trailer for Culture Shock, the July installment of Hulu and Blumhouse's Into the Dark horror anthology series.
