Deadlock is a real no-budget project. Clocking in at 40 minutes, this fast-paced actioner was an ambitious undertaking started by two 16-year-olds way back in 1998. Lauding traditional action films, Deadlock was made without any financial assistance and shot on location in the freezing conditions of the Finnish winter, the temperature frequently dropping way below -20Â°C. Shooting with a young amateur cast on 8mm film, the filmmakers traded budget and manpower for time and resilience. Deadlock spent 8 years in the making, the two-man crew working to find time in order to take the film through a long post-prodution period, which included the building of the film's entire soundtrack from scratch.
