  • Taya Asimos was born in San Francisco, California and spent her childhood in a suburb south of there, called Burlingame. Taya's unique name comes from her father's Greek heritage. She was named after her grandmother, Theodosia Asimakopoulos. As a young girl she was creative and artistic; she excelled at ceramics, drawing, and music. In high school Taya was a cheerleader, played soccer and was on student council. At the University of Oregon, Taya earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. During that time she joined Alpha Phi sorority; she was elected formal recruitment chair and later, president. It wasn't until after graduation that her true passion resurfaced- acting. Since moving to the entertainment capital in the fall of 2006, Taya has earned roles on television, the Web, and film.
