Biography

Jessica Athayde achieved national recognition as Mimi in the hit tv-series "Morangos com Açúcar", back in 2006. In 2007, just one year after her debut as an actress, she was chosen as part of the main cast of "Ilha dos Amores", on the prime time slot. From then on, she has been a regular presence in TVI's major tv-series. Among other projects, she starred in tv-series such as "A Outra", "Flor do Mar", "Mar de Paixão" and "Destinos Cruzados". Versatile actress, her role as abuse victim Barbara Rodrigues in "Mulheres" granted her critical acclaim and marked a turning point in her career. Usually cast for comic characters, the turn to a highly dramatic interpretation amazed the audience and forever established Jessica as a renown and respected actress, with a wide acting range. Currently, Jessica is in production for her first lead role as Alexa in "A Herdeira", scheduled to premiere on prime time late in 2017. She also starred in the tv-series "Onde Está Elisa?", yet to be on air.
