Alejandro Zuno is a Mexican film director and a graduate of the Film School at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His debut feature, Newborn, premiered in the Official Selection at Mar del Plata International Film Festival. He directed 2 episodes of Netflix's hit The Secret of the River, which ranked in Mexico's Top 10 for five weeks. Alongside Ernesto Contreras, Zuno co-directed Tengo que morir todas las noches, Mexico's first LGBTQIA+ series and winner of Best Direction at Series Mania.
His short film Open the Earth was nominated for an Ariel Award and won top prizes at Shorts Mexico and Literally Short. In 2018, he won the Ariel for Best Live Action Short with Oasis, screened at over 20 festivals worldwide.
