The movie has achieved cult status in the meantime, and while the 2006 sequel was panned by critics, Amazon decided to remake the movie, which was released earlier this year to mixed reviews, but it seems that the fans were more than satisfied, as a sequel has been announced by Amazon, with the first film’s main star, Jake Gyllenhaal set to reprise his role in the sequel. We’re certain that this sequel won’t repeat the failure of the original sequel, but it remains to be seen how well Amazon is going to execute it.

The production filmed a weigh-in scene where Gyllenhaal would showboat for the cameras, presumably both in and out of character. Dalton looks to be fighting a fictional fighter named Harris, who is played by the former UFC fighter Jay Hieron.

The trailer for the newest entry into Paranormal Activity franchise looks like a retread of set-ups we’ve seen before, callbacks to previous entries, and a horror movie too late for 2015. Don’t misunderstand me – this will most definitely make money. There are some wonderful moments when people realize a lazy, retrod horror movie is shit (like the recent Poltergeist remake failing abysmally at the box-office), but it seems that this franchise is thus far fail-safe.
