Trolls Band Together will be available for streaming on March 15 exclusively on Peacock. The film made $207 million worldwide, falling short of the original's $347 million. Given the franchise's past success on streaming, Trolls Band Together is expected to do well.

The streaming release date has been revealed for Trolls Band Together. Released in theaters on November 17, 2023, Trolls Band Together is the third film in the Trolls series, which began in 2016. Peacock announced on Thursday that the jukebox musical threequel Trolls Band Together from Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation will debut exclusively on the platform on March 15, following a run in theaters that saw it gross over $208 million worldwide.

Released last November, the animated feature watches as protagonist troll Poppy (Anna Kendrick) grows closer to her now boyfriend Branch (Justin Timberlake), thereafter discovering his secret past as a member of her favorite boy band, BroZone, with his four estranged brothers. When Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious popstars, Branch and Poppy embark on an action-packed journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd. Along the way, Poppy uncovers a family secret of her own, a long-lost sister named Viva (Camila Cabello).

In “Trolls Band Together,” director Walt Dohrn says that one of the most important aspects of making sure the film works is determining where and when specific songs should be used. He says the central thing to keep in mind is where they can help move the story forward in a unique way. He then illustrated this using the song, “Sweet Dreams,” as an example. “How do we do that? We have the lyrics, so what we do is just start blocking them in going, okay, this would be a good place for it rhythmically. We just start slowly building it, putting songs in, just rough songs,” he tells Gold Derby during our recent webchat for our Meet the Experts: Film Animation panel (watch the exclusive video interview above).

Long-lost siblings reunite and troll magic faces a new obstacle in “Trolls Band Together.” Dynamic duo Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) embark on a new adventure to get Branch’s brothers’ boy band — Brozone — back together to save Floyd (Troye Sivan) from two wannabe superstar singers who secretly leech off of Floyd’s talent.

Though the end of the year is mainly the mainstay of serious and somber award-seeking films, there’s almost always room for family-friendly flicks. After all, there has to be a break from all the hectic holiday preparations, and what better way to relax than getting off your feet in one of those swell reclining plush multiplex chairs? So, the “mouse house” will arrive shortly with a slick fantasy fable, but how about their “major ‘toon rival”? Well, the fine folks at Dreamworks are completing a trilogy begun seven years ago when they put a new spin on a beloved baby boomer toy. Much of that spin involves music, as the lil’ critters interpreted classic (and some brand new) pop tunes. This makes their third outing feel a bit foreshadowed as those Trolls Band Together.

This new outing begins with a flashback to the final performance of the huge Troll boy band BroZone.

Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick spoof boy bands in a groovy sequel with bonkers animation. The third “Trolls” film is finally getting the band back together — Justin Timberlake’s former boy band, *Nsync, that is.

The latest trailer for “Trolls Band Together” features a preview of “Better Place” from *Nsync, the group’s first song in 20 years. The full track releases September 29 via RCA Records ahead of the film hitting theaters this November.

While Timberlake’s fellow *Nsync members have since gone on to their own film and TV careers, including most recently Joey Fatone’s hilarious turn in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3,” “Trolls Band Together,” well, gets the full band back together with members Timberlake, Fatone, Lance Bass, Jc Chasez, and Chris Kirkpatrick. *Nsync recently appeared together at the MTV VMAs to present the first award of the ceremony. Now, it’s clear the beloved ’90s group is back in a big way.

When DreamWorks purchased the “Trolls” franchise in 2013, it seemed like an odd revival. The furry creatures had been lost in the 1990’s after being the toy fad of a generation.

Since then, DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures managed to turn this IP back into a multi-million dollar success story, powered by catchy songs from star-studded casts and topped with glitter, lots of it. Clips from the third film, due to be released on Nov. 17 in the U.S, were presented Thursday at France’s Annecy Animation Festival, the world’s biggest toon fest, in front of an electrified audience.

Introduced by director Walt Dohrn and producer Gina Shay (returning for their third “Trolls”film together), along with co-director Tim Heitz, the whimsical world of “Trolls Band Together” unveiled itself as a richer and brighter universe than ever, leaving fans’ eyes sparkling.

Dreamworks Animation announced Tuesday during the Annecy International Animation Festival that production of Orion and the Dark, an animated feature penned by Charlie Kaufman, will come to Netflix in 2024.

Based on the book by Emma Yarlett, the story follows Orion, an anxious young boy voiced by Jacob Tremblay, who is afraid of the dark. Then, the literal embodiment of his worst fear — “the Dark” (voiced by Paul Walter Hauser) — pays him a visit to prove there is nothing to be afraid of in the night. Orion must decide if he can learn to accept the unknown and embrace the joy of living.

DreamWorks Animation is definitely having a moment, especially coming off the Oscar-nominated “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.” They’ll continue that celebration this summer at the 2023 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, held in the rolling hills of France in mid-June.

Camila Cabello, Troye Sivan, Eric André, Daveed Diggs, Kid Cudi, Amy Schumer, Andrew Rannells, Zosia Mamet, and RuPaul Charles join the franchise for Trolls Band Together.

Returning voice cast members include Zooey Deschanel as Bridget, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Gristle, Grammy winner Anderson .Paak as Prince D, Ron Funches as Cooper; Kunal Nayyar as Guy Diamond; and Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson as Tiny Diamond.

The first trailer for Trolls Band Together shows Queen Poppy and Branch returning for another music adventure with a boy band twist. The previous installment, Trolls World Tour, was released simultaneously in theaters and on video-on-demand during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, leading AMC Theaters to stop distributing Universal releases until the conflict was resolved in 2020. The film performed poorly at the box office, but its VOD sales skyrocketed during the pandemic, leading to the announcement of a third film in 2021.

Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation have set a Thanksgiving release date for Trolls Band Together, the latest chapter in the Trolls franchise.

The threequel will hit theaters on Nov. 17, 2023, as Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return as the voices of Queen Poppy and Branch, now officially a couple. They’re on a mission to save one Troll Village’s legendary boy bands, BroZone, and Branch’s long-lost older brothers, voiced by an ensemble cast that includes Eric André, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs and Troye Sivan.

Universal Pictures has chosen to premiere the animated event film at the multiplex after the second movie in the franchise, Trolls World Tour, broke the theatrical window for its release amid the novel coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

Theater owners criticized Universal for opting for a PVOD release for Trolls World Tour and urged that the decision be a one-off and not a new normal for Hollywood.
