Sandy Hoekstra is a Canadian actress, director and filmmaker. She is known for her direction and character roles in the Got Milf? Sketch Comedy Special available on Roku, April 1, 2025, and her award-winning documentary, Roslyn Frantz - Live available on Telus Optik TV, as of Fall, 2025.
With an early interest in dance and theatre, Sandy has a classically-trained background. She graduated from the Co. Rogues Acting Masterclass program (Calgary), the CAT Professional Filmmaking program (Kelowna), and is earning a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree through Yorkville University (Toronto).
Sandy most recently studied sketch writing with Upright Citizen's Brigade (NYC). She is drawn to characters and circumstances that explore life's awkward comedic moments and, alternatively, moments of devastation. Hoekstra brings a unique mixture of quirkiness and social insight to a style that is grounded in reality.
Sandy has Frisian, Scottish and Scandinavian ancestry, and was born in Claresholm, Alberta to dairy farming parents.
