    • The Mamas and the Papas is known for The One I Love (2014), Hotel Artemis (2018) and Repo Men (2010).

Trivia

  • The group was close friends with Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Voytek Frykowski and Abigail Folger, all victims murdered by the "Manson Family", led by Charles Manson. Denny Doherty once revealed that he and John were invited over to Cielo Drive on the night of the murders but declined the invitation. The sheet music to the John Phillips-penned "Straight Shooter" was actually found open at the piano in the house at Cielo Drive when the bodies of the victims were found.
  • The track "Pearl" was written as a tribute to Janis Joplin.
  • John Phillips penned "San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)," a hit for Scott McKenzie, and also co-wrote The Beach Boys' "Kokomo".
  • With the death of Denny Doherty on January 19, 2007, Michelle Phillips is the last surviving original member of the group.
  • Have sold over 40 million records worldwide.
