Joanne Hock

Joanne has directed Academy Award, Golden Globe, Tony and Emmy award winning actors in a host of feature films including: The Ultimate Legacy, Discarded Things and Trinity Goodheart. Her latest feature film is a period drama set in 1966 entitled When We Last Spoke and stars Cloris Leachman, Melissa Gilbert, Darby Camp and Corbin Bernsen. The film won the prestigious Austin Film Festival Audience Favorite award and premiered in theaters and broadcast on the Hallmark Channel. Joanne is a Nichol's Fellowship screenwriting Finalist as well as Americans for the Arts workshop recipient. Joanne has directed over 30 episodes of True Crime television such as Southern Gothic, FBI Criminal Pursuit, Ice Cold Killers and Happily Never After for cable networks such as Discovery ID, A&E Biography and Lifetime. Her documentary projects include Charles Canon: A Mind for Business, The James B. Duke Story, Laugh at Us, and In the Footsteps of Elie Wiesel . Her films can be seen streaming on Amazon and also on PBS. Most recently she completed two notable pop-culture documentaries; award-winning audience favorite, Purple Dreams, which premiered to a sold-out crowd at the prestigious Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and at Lincoln Center in New York City. Leonard Maltin introduced her passion project, Martin Hill: Camera Man, at the film's recent world premiere and showcased imagery filmed with Charlie Chaplin's personal 35mm Bolex camera that capture the iconic feature, The Kid and Gold Rush. The camera was operated for the first time in over 60 years by Hock herself for the documentary. Known to break glass ceilings, Joanne continues to push boundaries and work in the ever-evolving film industry. Joanne has several screenplays and feature films in development.
