Sound Editor and Re-recording Mixer, Adam Parrish King, grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, painting, drawing and wandering the nearby Smoky Mountains. He studied Fine Arts and Art History at the University of Pennsylvania, then went on to receive his MFA in Film Production at the University of Southern California, where he focused on post-production sound. While at USC, Adam wrote, directed, animated, and sound designed a film called "The Wraith of Cobble Hill," which was short-listed for an Academy Award and won the award for Best Short Film at the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and a number of other film festivals worldwide.
For the past twenty years, Adam has been a sound editor and re-recording mixer on over 60 feature documentary and narrative films, over 40 TV series, and several art installations that have premiered at museums and galleries around the world, including at the Getty Museum. Among his credits are the series "Fargo," "Better Call Saul" and "Gaslit," and many acclaimed documentaries, including "The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling," and "E.O. Wilson: Of Ants and Men." Several have been nominated for Emmy Awards for Outstanding Sound, and for Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards. Recently, he was the sound editor and re-recording mixer on the Academy Award winning documentary "The Only Girl in the Orchestra."
Adam currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he continues to paint, draw, and wander around the nearby Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
