Pietro Aretino was born on 20 April 1492 in Arezzo, Republic of Florence [now Tuscany, Italy]. He was a writer, known for Der Kaufmann von Venedig (1923), La belle Antonia, d'abord ange puis démon (1972) and Les autres contes de Canterbury (1972). He died on 21 October 1556 in Venice, Republic of Venice [now Veneto, Italy].
