Chris Retts is a multiple-produced screenwriter and independent film producer, having feature-length projects produced by MarVista Entertainment for the Lifetime Movie Network, as well as the Austin Film Festival official selection "Wade in the Water". "Wade", which he also produced, won the audience award at DWF-LA, was an official selection of the Twin Cities Film Festival, and won "Best Drama" at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. The script for the film was a Semifinalist for the prestigious Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting, the second time in as many years Chris was recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his work. His scripts have also placed highly in the Austin Film Festival screenplay competition on several occasions, as well as the Script Pipeline screenplay competition. Chris holds an MFA in writing for screen and television from Pepperdine University. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three daughters.
