Ned Thorne was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up on nearby Bainbridge Island. He became involved in the performing arts as a child, acting in and later writing and directing numerous productions for school, college and community theatres. After graduating from Whitman College with degrees in English and Theatre, he relocated to New York City in 2006 to pursue a career in film and television. He has
worked as an editor, assistant editor and director on a variety of projects. His released his first feature as writer and director, 419, on DVD and online in 2013. As of 2015 he is based in Los Angeles, where he continues to edit films and develop his own projects.
