Kiarash Anvari made his debut as a writer and director with "The Pot and The Oak." The film premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in 2017 and received nominations for the Bright Future Award, FIPRESCI Award, and Netpac Award. Anvari also collaborated with Sadaf Foroughi, producing and editing her debut feature "Ava," which won the FIPRESCI award and was recognized as one of TIFF's Top Ten Canadian Films of 2017. He produced and edited Foroughi's second film, "Summer With Hope," which won the Crystal Globe Grand Prix for Best Film at the 2022 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
