Andre Jackson
Andre Jackson was born the first of two children in the small Arkansas Delta town of Forrest City. His father is of African American and Native American (Sioux) descent and his mother is of African American and White English descent. He and his sister Nikky spent much of their childhood in Forrest City being raised by their paternal grandmother.

For more than a decade, Andre has performed extensively in award-winning theatrical productions nationwide. Shortly after attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) in Los Angeles, he was cast in Mark Stein's Direct from Death Row- The Scottsboro Boys. For his performance in The Scottsboro Boys, Andre received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Featured Actor and, alongside the rest of the cast, Best Ensemble Award. He was an NAACP Theatre Award and Los Angeles Ovation Award winner for his gripping role in August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone and was nominated for Best Lead Actor at the BroadwayWorld Awards for his lead role as "Simba" in the Tony Award winning Disney's The Lion King. Andre continues to perform in The Lion King with its Broadway Company.

Andre stars as Highgate in the multiple award-winning web series BLACK. Directed by Frank T. Ziede, the series is slated to begin filming its third season in the fall of 2016. In addition to his work on BLACK, he can be seen on the Netflix series Luke Cage and NBC's Law & Order: SVU.

A former Marine who has traveled all around the world, Andre now splits his time between New York and Memphis, where he primarily resides with his wife (a writer), son and two dogs.
