Biography

    • Jermaine Jenas is a TV pundit and former professional football player. Over the course of his professional career, Jermaine made over 340 league appearances for 5 different clubs in the United Kingdom. He also made 21 appearances for England, scoring once in a friendly against Switzerland in 2008. Jermaine first appeared as a pundit on television in 2005, appearing in a number of episodes of Match of the Day (1964). In 2014, he made the permanent career move into television, effectively ending his playing career, although he would not formally announce his retirement until 2016. He first appeared on ITV's coverage of the Europa League before signing a contract with the BBC to join their punditry team covering Match of the Day (1964), Football Focus (2001), Match of the Day 2 (2004), Final Score (2001), and Match of the Day 3 (2011). In 2016, he was one of the pundits covering Match of the Day: Euro 2016 (2016), covering 4 games live and 3 highlights shows.

      He has also made appearances on A Question of Sport (1970), Would I Lie to You? (2007) and The Great Sport Relief Bake Off (2012). He was one of the participants in Channel 4's Reality TV series Time Crashers (2015), and was interviewed as part of the documentary Is Football Racist? (2012). He was also one of a host of footballers to feature in Goal III: Taking on the World (2009).
