Novelist, essayist, screenwriter and house music DJ/producer ("Mateo Senolia"). Born in Houston, Texas, family from southwestern Louisiana. Critically acclaimed debut novel, "Red Now and Laters". short-listed for the Ernest Gaines Award 2014. 2016 Sundance Screenwriters Lab for "Gully", which premiered at Tribeca 2019. PEN/Faulkner Reading Series lecturer. BA in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania. JD from Tulane Law.
