Originally from Trabzon Surmeneli, the actor lost 40 kilos in 1 year for the movie Mesken. He became known in Turkey by winning an award in a talent competition in the 90s. He worked with the master actor Öztürk Serengil for many years until his death. He took part in more than 50 movies and many TV programs.
