Joseph William Stone II, born September 20, 1930 died on December 12, 2009 from complications resulting from the reoccurrence of Cancer and Parkinson's Disease. He was 79. Mr. Stone was born in Polk, Pennsylvania, resided the majority of his life in Meadville and ultimately retired to Tionesta. He was an Eagle Scout and a Journeyman Die Sinker who worked for five years at Sharon Steel, 20 years at Meadville Forge, 13 years at Lakeview Forge and 20 years at Aggressive Forge Die Company which he co-owned. Mr. Stone was a Lifetime Member of the Meadville Elks No. 219 Club, coached Little League, was a member of the Fryburg Sportsman's Club, and worked with his daughter's charity, Planet Hope. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was happily married for nearly sixty years and is survived by his devoted wife Dorothy Marie Stone and their loving children Michael, Sharon, Kelly and Patrick, his grandchildren Brian, Colin, Roan, Laird, Quinn and his step-grandchildren Nick, Stephanie and Josh. In addition, his sister Mrs. Vonne Dalmasco survives him and the spouses of the Stone children, Bruce and Tasha extend their condolences. Mr. Stone - "Joe" - was a second father to many, an extraordinary father and husband and defined what it was to be a fine and true gentleman. His philosophy was to find the wonder in each and every day. Mr. Stone's death was preceded by the loss of his brother Eugene as well as his Mother Lela and Father Joseph William. He will be remembered.
