Played for Seton Hall in the National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball championship in 1989. He helped the New Jersey college team to the championship finals, where they lost to Michigan in overtime. For this effort, he was voted as the West Region's Most Valuable Player

Was voted Most Valuable Player of the National Basketball League seven times, in 1991-1992 and 1994-1998

Was part of the Melbourne Tigers teams that won the National Basketball League championships in 1993 and 1997

In 1998/99, he became the second Australian basketball player, after Luc Longley, to win a National Basketball Association championship ring when he had a minor role in the San Antonio Spurs team

Retired from the Melbourne Tigers in May 2005, at the same time that his father Lindsay retired as the team's coach
