The final episode of Providence Falls ended with revelations that could make our jaws drop—Suzette, seemingly the devoted best friend to Cora, turned out to be working for the Other Side, with its agent Bale—who seems to be the counterpart of the angels. Is he the devil? He definitely has some nasty plans up his sleeves, but fortunately the plans may just work in Cora and Liam’s favor. The Other Side does want the two to end up together. From a stark contrast of black and white, the show moves into a grey territory where Cora and Liam may have a thin chance of ending up together. Meredith is still missing, and the John Brody murder also needs to be resolved—but as termed by Cora herself, can a “rookie” and an “outsider” solve it? Let’s dive deep into timelines, fates, and mystery and decode how it all may be connected.

Historical romances that span across a few afterlives inadvertently promote the idea of soulmates—people who look for and find each other in every lifetime. It makes sense that they end up with each other happily, but what happens when someone has stolen you from your assigned soulmate in a lifetime? The pieces do not fall into place, and it may lead to dangerous results. According to the “Department of Destiny,” this needs to be fixed in a later lifetime. Providence Falls is a humorous addition in the genre of historical romances, as Liam O’Connor is assigned to unite Cora McLeod with her destined lover, Finn Welsh, as Liam had prevented her from being with him in an earlier lifetime in 1844 Ireland. Let’s take a look at the first episode—“Chance of a Lifetime”—and track Liam’s success (or not!).
