Biography

A native of Los Angeles, Matt Guajardo Kelsey has spent a good part of his life working in all areas of the entertainment industry, as an actor, writer, director and producer.

After graduation from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts LAMDA, , Kelsey moved back to Los Angeles and continued working on his acting craft appearing in television shows, films and theater productions, while also continuing to write.

After a brief hiatus, Kelsey reignited his passion for the entertainment industry and decided to submit a script he had previously written to film festivals. The script was for his short film, HER PLACE, which Kelsey wrote, directed and starred in, about a distressed man who must overcome the unrequited love he cherishes with his ex-wife in order to live a happy life. The film has received critical acclaim and garnered several nominations and awards including Best Foreign Short at the London Independent Film Festival, Best Narrative Film and Best Drama at the FilmCon Awards and Best Indie film at Festigious Los Angeles, among others. In addition, Guajardo Kelsey won Best Actor for his role as Tom at Cannes World Film Festival, the Los Angeles Film Awards, the LA Sun Film Festival and Festigious Los Angeles.
