Nicolas Cage Supports Son Weston At Wedding Despite Him Allegedly Assaulting His Mother
Image
Maybe the fourth time’s the charm, as Weston Cage celebrates his latest marriage to Jenifer Alexa Canter on April 25.

They held a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony at The London West Hollywood in Beverly Hills, California. The bride shared several photos and videos of the event’s festivities on her Facebook, including selfies of her and her groom, dancing with her maid of honor, and a photo of her new father-in-law, Nicolas Cage, next to her mother.

Although his father made an appearance at the ceremony, Weston’s mother, Christina Fulton, was notably absent after Weston had assaulted her last year during a mental health crisis.

The couple initially went public with their relationship in November, got engaged in March, and are now officially married two months later.

“Jenifer is my first love, my only love and my last,” Weston said. “We were born in the same hospital, and I...

Hollywood drama just turned personal—real personal. Nicolas Cage, the face behind some of Hollywood’s wildest movie moments, suddenly found himself facing a real-life crisis as a dad. His 34-year-old son, Weston Cage Coppola, recently made headlines after being accused of a violent assault on his mother, Christina Fulton.

According to Fulton, she sustained serious injuries after her 34-year-old son attacked her, in the middle of a serious mental health crisis. However, here’s the twist: Weston Cage pleaded not guilty, and was ordered a two-year mental health diversion program. Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage isn’t turning his back on his son. He’s instead standing by his side and hoping for him to learn from his mistake and heal.

Nicolas Cage’s Son Avoids Jail, Gets Mental Health Diversion for Alleged Assault on Mom
Image
Weston Coppola Cage, the adult son of actors Nicolas Cage and Christina Fulton, was granted a two-year mental health diversion program Wednesday to resolve two felony assault charges alleging he “snapped” and violently attacked his mother and a friend outside at his apartment complex last year.

“Mr. Cage does suffer from an eligible mental health disorder. I’m satisfied it was a significant factor in the commission of the charged offenses,” Los Angeles County Judge Enrique Monguia said at a morning hearing. “It’s obvious he was suffering a breakdown at the time.

Nicolas Cage’s Ex-Wife Sues Actor Over Battery Committed By Their Son, Weston Cage
Image
Actor Nicolas Cage has been sued by his ex-wife following their adult son’s physical attack on her last year.

Christina Fulton, 57, claimed that Cage had ignored signs of mental health issues in their son, Weston Coppola Cage, 34, and enabled Weston’s emotional ramp-up to the incident. She is suing Cage, 61, for negligence and Weston for assault and battery.

Weston has pleaded not guilty to both charges. An attorney for Cage responded, “The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous…Mr. Cage does not control Weston’s behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother.”

The physical altercation between Fulton and Weston occurred on April 28, 2024. Fulton chalked up her son’s behavior to a “mental health crisis,” saying she received multiple emergency texts from Weston’s friends. When she arrived, Weston assaulted her multiple times in a “manic rage,...

Nicolas Cage Sued By Ex, Blamed For Brutal Attack By Son Weston Cage
Image
Reading Time: 3 minutes

We probably don’t need to tell you that Nicolas Cage has led an eventful personal life over the years.

But the eccentric screen legend’s latest legal drama stems not from his actions, but rather from those of his troubled son Weston.

Back in April of 2024, Weston was arrested for assaulting his own mother, Christina Fulton. It was not his first arrest on domestic violence charges.

Now, Fulton has filed lawsuits against both Weston and Nic, claiming that the latter enables his son and brings out the 34-year-old’s worst tendencies.

Nicolas Cage Calls Ex’s Lawsuit ‘Absurd and Frivolous’ After 34-Year-Old Son’s Alleged Assault
Image
Nicolas Cage has spoken out after his ex Christina Fulton accused him of enabling their son’s bad behavior, which ultimately led to 34-year-old Weston Coppola Cage allegedly assaulting her.

“The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous,” the actor’s lawyer told TheWrap in a Thursday statement. “Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man. Mr. Cage does not control Weston’s behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother.”

Cage’s commentary comes after Fulton sued him and their son on Wednesday for their respective roles in an April 2024 incident that turned physical. Last July, Weston was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after what she called a “mental-health crisis.”

In her lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by TheWrap, Fulton claims Weston has “a history of committing violent assault and battery and harming numerous individuals.

Image
"Why did you tell me?" "So that I could protect you..." Lionsgate has revealed the official trailer for a crime thriller titled Crescent City, yet another of these dime-a-dozen crime movies being dumped to VOD and instantly forgotten upon release. Most of us won't even see this movie or care about it at all. Crescent City is the story of a twisted series of murders that sends three detectives on a whirlwind investigation. Described as a "mesmerizing crime thriller about what it costs to catch a killer." A small town in the south is ravaged by a serial killer, with everyone being a suspect including the police. What must it take to find him and stop him? The mystery film stars Terrence Howard, Esai Morales, Nicky Whelan, Weston Cage, & Alec Baldwin. Not only is this a bad trailer, everything about this movie looks annoyingly bad. Avoid at all costs. // Continue...

Nicolas Cage – Reportedly Paid Hefty Bill To Get Son Weston Out of Prison

Per the US Sun, Weston was booked in LA. However, reports say his arrest was in connection to his attack on his mother Christina Fulton in April, which left her with a face filled with bruises.

Nicolas Cage’s Son, Weston, Arrested For Assaulting His Mother With A Deadly Weapon
Image
Weston Coppola Cage, the 33-year-old son of actor Nicolas Cage, was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Cage was taken into custody at 7:57 a.m. on a warrant stemming from an incident earlier this year. He was released on $150,000 bond less than two hours later, at 9:50 a.m., police records show.

While authorities did not confirm a direct link, the arrest appears to be connected to an altercation on April 28 between Cage and his mother, Christina Fulton, at her Los Angeles home. That incident reportedly began as a verbal dispute before turning physical. Emergency services were called to evaluate Fulton, but she declined hospital treatment. Cage had left the scene before police arrived.

Fulton was attempting to comfort her son, who was experiencing emotional difficulties. Fulton has since denied any argument took place and requested privacy.

Boneyard Review | A Peppy Mel Gibson Can't Save Dark True Crime Thriller
Image
Boneyard explores the West Mesa murders, a grim real-life serial killer case still under investigation. The cast is divided between the out-of-place 50 Cent and Brian Van Holt, and wonderful but small performances from Nora Zehetner and Mel Gibson. Despite its chilling premise, Boneyard suffers from a flat tone with no atmosphere or suspense and a formulaic script with bad dialogue.

The creepiest part of Boneyard, besides its title, is the fact that the villain at hand may still be walking God's green Earth at this very moment. Anyone unfamiliar with the West Mesa murders should brush up, whether you tune in for this formulaic cop thriller or not. The discovery of numerous skeletal remains back in 2009 sent shockwaves through Albequerque, New Mexico and across the U.S., as it quickly became a national story and investigation. Serial killers and sex trafficking rings were thought to be linked; suspects were named,...

Nora Zehetner on Her Mel Gibson Movies in 2024, Boneyard & Monster Summer
Image
The brilliant Nora Zehetner stars in two very different 2024 films, Boneyard and Monster Summer, both with Mel Gibson. In Boneyard, Zehetner plays a female detective in a hyper-masculine world, drawing on real-life experiences for authenticity. The fantasy drama Monster Summer, set for release in October, features Zehetner as a bed-and-breakfast owner and Mason Thames' mother in a coming-of-age tale.

Nora Zehetner could be the best actor whose name you don't recognize. Hopefully you do, though. Long before Star Wars, Rian Johnson directed her in the 2006 indie classic, Brick. She was a burning bright spot in The Brothers Bloom, and had an incredible arc in Marc Maron's underrated series, Maron. She recently starred opposite Scoot McNairy and Kit Harington in the excellent Blood for Dust, and is now in two back-to-back Mel Gibson movies Boneyard and Monster Summer (formerly known as Boys of Summer). The best thing is, she plays completely different roles.

‘Boneyard’ Review: There Isn’t Nearly Enough for Mel Gibson or 50 Cent to Do in Clunky Serial Killer Thriller
Image
You might expect a film that begins with Mel Gibson announcing, “The Bible says we should rejoice in our suffering,” to be a little more high-minded than “Boneyard.” But this trashy trawl through a fictionalized version of the “West Mesa Murders” — a still-unsolved southwestern crime spree in our century’s early years — is the kind of dubiously moralizing exploitation exercise that makes “Sound of Freedom” look like a noble class act by comparison.

Likewise “inspired by true events,” Asif Akbar’s movie alternates between lurid serial-killer suspense not far removed from the retro grindhouse ogling of concurrent “MaXXXine” and a convoluted procedural involving variably corrupt, conflicting investigators. Four screenwriters are credited, to results that feel very much like four screenplays shuffled to comprise one awkward narrative deck of cards — from which marquee name Gibson has been largely dealt out. Too cluttered to be dull, but frequently clunky and inept, this...

‘Darkness of Man’ VOD Review

Stars: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chika Kanamoto, Emerson Min, Sticky Fingaz, Ji Yong Lee, Andrey Ivchenko, Kristanna Loken, Shannen Doherty, Cynthia Rothrock, Weston Cage, Kris Van Damme | Written by James Cullen Bressack, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Alethea Hnatko-Cho | Directed by James Cullen Bressack

Jean-Claude Van Damme has kept a fairly low profile compared to many other 80s action heroes. And that includes such non-genre appearances as voice acting in kids films like Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, Minions: The Rise of Gru as well as a cameo in the French comedy Haters. However, Darkness of Man sees him return to the Dtv action spotlight

As the film opens, Russel Hatch lies in a puddle of his own blood, bleeding out from several bullet wounds. He tells us in voice-over that, like every story, this began with a woman. And we go back to Miami two years prior when Hatch was an Interpol agent.

Nicolas Cage’s Son, Weston, Accused of Hitting Mother Christina Fulton During A ‘Mental Health Breakdown’
Image
Weston Cage, the son of actor Nicholas Cage, has been accused of hitting his mother, Christina Fulton.

Fulton has been seen sporting a black eye and facial bruises. Weston is a suspect in a battery report involving his mom at her home in Los Angeles on April 28.

On Monday, Fulton issued a statement about the incident. “Weston and I had no argument prior to the incident,” Fulton said. “On Sunday, April 28, I was reached out to by several of Weston’s best friends for assistance because they were experiencing Weston in a mental-health crisis… Upon my arrival, I was met by my son, who clearly was in a state of a mental-health breakdown, which in turn became a horrific experience. I have always supported helping my son with his mental health struggles. I am doing all I can to get him the continued support he needs.”

Trailer for Serial Killer Thriller 'Boneyard' with Mel Gibson & 50 Cent
Image
"So it could be anyone?" Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller / serial killer mystery title Boneyard, which is being dumped on VOD this July if anyone wants to watch. The title card in the trailer even says this movie is "inspired by true crime stories" which probably means this script went into production because they wanted to capitalize on the obsession with true crime right now. When the remains of women are discovered in the New Mexico desert, an extensive investigation is launched. Inspired by true crime stories, this chilling crime-thriller follows detectives on a hunt for the killer. As each of their agendas and methods clash, a tangled web of intrigue casts suspicion in all directions. As usual. The film stars Brian Van Holt, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Nora Zehetner, Michael Sirow, Spice Williams-Crosby, Weston Cage, Gabrielle Haugh, and Mel Gibson. This looks exceptionally generic and derivative,...

Fear and Loathing in Aspen: The Hunter S. Thompson Adaptation That Deserves More Recognition

Throughout his extensive career of long-form journalism, novels, and memorable television interviews, Dr. Hunter S. Thompson's words have spread across generations, inspiring writers and activists alike to truly think outside the box and fight for their beliefs. There have been very few filmmakers that have taken a stab at the eccentric journalist's escapades, but those who have followed one common theme. 2021 Emmy awards nominations ballot: See all 41 Best TV Movie contenders from ‘As Luck Would Have It’ to ‘Wendy Williams: The Movie’
Image
The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 41 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 13; last year only 28 TV movies were submitted.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 28 to cast their 2021 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017 that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Assault on Station 33 review – Nicolas Cage's son dials it up as supervillain
Weston Cage
Weston Cage Coppola is a Russian terrorist taking veterans hostage in this unthrilling micro-budget Die Hard rip-off

Although the title invokes John Carpenter’s 1976 classic Assault on Precinct 13, one of the all-time great pulpy siege movies, this tale of a hostage-taking at a Veterans Administration hospital in Buffalo, NY, is all pulp, no greatness. In fact, the premise is not so much about an assault as an infiltration that one fortuitously skilful character, who just happens to be around at the time, accidentally foils when the bad guys threaten his wife and child’s safety. In other words: Die Hard, but with a teensy budget that appears to have mostly been used on a visual effect that makes the many shots of bullets entering bodies look like puffs of red dust exploding like scarlet glitter bombs. Get Gone: When the Coppolas Kill [Trailer]
I spent far more time trying to decipher the Coppola family tree to figure out how the two Coppolas that turn up in Michael Thomas Daniel's Get Gone fit into the acting/directing family, than the movie is probably deserving of but alas, that's how things go sometimes.

Horror legend Lin Shaye, Weston Cage Coppola (Nicolas Cage's son), and Bailey Coppola (Cage's nephew), all star in this horror movie about a team-building retreat that goes wrong when the retreat participants have a run-in with the locals.

Shaye plays the matriarch of the family of killers while the two Coppolas play her sons.

It's not clear how exactly things go wrong though it seems that some of the retreat attendees simply make the mistake of wanderin...

Official Trailer for Hoax-Busting Horror Film 'Get Gone' with Lin Shaye
"If you create a beast, you best learn how to ride it." 1091 Media has debuted an official trailer for a horror thriller titled Get Gone, which premiered at the Action On Film Festival earlier this year. The film's selling point is this creepy mask, which seems to be a part of the killers' costume. A hoax-busting group goes on a team-building retreat to Whiskey Flats, Oregon, and runs into trouble as they cross paths with an invasive drilling company that is warring with a very private family. Their retreat takes a turn after the group runs into trouble with them. The film stars horror film legend Lin Shaye, plus Weston Cage Coppola (Nicolas Cage's son), Robert Miano, Bradley Stryker, and Silvia Spross. Looks super bizarre and extra strange. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Michael Thomas Daniel's Get Gone, direct from 1091's YouTube: When a hoax-busting...

Hero Nation: John Carpenter, JJ Abrams Join Hollywood’s Push Into Comics
Image
John Carpenter is taking his Hollywood horror sensibilities to Gotham City, with DC Comics’ recent announcement that the director of The Thing, Halloween, and The Fog is co-writing a special 40-page Joker comic book.

Carpenter isn’t the only Hollywood notable dabbling in the comic book world — far from it, in fact, he’s actually part of a crush of celebrity tourists who are putting their names on comics. The allure for some is the IP creation opportunities, while others hope to tap into the evolving medium’s new indie-spirited cachet. For some it’s a purer pursuit, a low-cost way to produce a pet project or a nostalgic lark that reconnects them with comics traditions and characters they loved in their own youth.

With Hollywood poised to make its annual southbound pilgrimage to San Diego’s Comic-Con International this week, here’s a look at two dozen notable show-biz...

Nicolas Cage, Ned Dennehy, and Andrea Riseborough in Mandy (2018)
Film Review: ‘211’
Nicolas Cage, Ned Dennehy, and Andrea Riseborough in Mandy (2018)
If you count the Sundance premiere of “Mandy,” Nicolas Cage has had no less than five films released in a span of five months — and 2018 isn’t half over yet. Quality doesn’t usually accompany such quantity, though in fact, three of the five (“Mom and Dad” and “The Humanity Bureau” as well as “Mandy”) have been pretty damn good. Balancing things out have been derivative thriller “Looking Glass” and, now, derivative crime meller “211.”

The latter’s publicity materials make a great deal of the film being inspired by a 1997 shootout between the Lapd and bank robbers. But apart from the huge amount of gunfire exchanged, there’s scant resemblance between that event and what’s depicted in York Alec Shackleton’s feature, which comes off as a rote, overstuffed compilation of genre cliches with pedestrian handling of action elements and frequent notes of maudlin contrivance. Nor does it help...

Nicolas Cage Plays a Cop Who Get's Caught in a Heist Shootout in Trailer For 211
Momentum Pictures and Millennium Films have released the first trailer for Nicolas Cage's new action film 211. The film is based on the true story of one of the longest and bloodiest events in police history. Here's the synopsis:

Officer Mike Chandler (Cage) and a young civilian passenger as they find themselves under-prepared and outgunned when fate puts them squarely in the crosshairs of a daring bank heist in progress by a fearless team of highly trained and heavily armed men. The title, 211, refers to the police code in the state of California for a robbery.

If you're a fan of Nicolas Cage then the movie looks like it's worth watching. This actually looks like a pretty kickass role for him to take on. It looks better than a lot of films that he's been doing these days.

The the movie was written and directed by York Shackleton, and the movie also stars Cory Hardrict,...

Nicolas Cage Plays a Cop in True-Story Police Action Thriller Film '211'
"Shots fired! Shots fired!" Momentum Pictures has released the official trailer for an action thriller titled 211, or #211, which is a reference to the police code "211" - meaning a robbery in progress. Inspired by one of the "longest and bloodiest bank heists in history", the film is described as a combination of End of Watch meets Black Hawk Down. Does it look like that description? See for yourself below. Nicolas Cage stars as a police officer who takes a civilian on a ride along, then gets caught up in this violent bank robbery heist. In addition to Cage, it also stars Cory Hardrict, Michael Rainey Jr., Ori Pfeffer, Weston Cage, Sophie Skelton and Alexandra Dinu.
