Nadiyah-Skyy became aware of female empowerment issues when she attended an all girls high school in the the early 2000's. She saw the barriers thrown up to prevent women from being successful and decided to make a connection so that young women after her would not face similar obstacles. She now understands that the empowerment of women can be achieved not only through politics, economics and business but also through creative arts, entertainment arts and performance arts.

Nadiyah now works in a field where her personal efforts are not only self-empowering but also supports the efforts of other women in the same field.
