Riot: TV Show Cancelled by Fox
Fox has cancelled Riot, their new comedy improv series, after four episodes.

Hosted by Rove McManus, Riot is an unscripted show that pairs guest celebrities with a group of regular players for comedy song, dance, and sketch challenges. The regulars are John Ross Bowie, Jamie Denbo, Brian Palermo, Jordan Black, Jessica McKenna, Meryl Hathaway and Rob Gleeson.

The show debuted in mid-May to a dismal 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.34 million viewers. The numbers have gone up and down since then but have all been terrible.

'Riot': Steve Carell and cast on the new improv game show that's taking comedy to the extreme
Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, and B.J. Novak in The Office (2005)
I think it’s safe to say that Steve Carell is a master of physical comedy. This is the man who famously once waxed his chest hair on the big screen. So it makes sense that The Office star is an executive producer and one of the first celebrity guests on Riot, a new extreme game show premiering tonight on Fox.

“I have no idea what I’m getting myself into,” Carell jokingly told EW before filming alongside his Office co-star Andy Buckley. The show is based on the international hit franchise Slide Show and puts two teams of celebrities...

Gay Comedian Rob Gleeson Does An Entire Set About Coming Out On “Conan”
Openly gay comics are plentiful, but not many of them break through to the mainstream. Even fewer go on national television and do an entire routine about coming out. Rob Gleeson did just that on Conan this week.

He covers the entire gamut, from an ill-fated attempt at sex with a girl at 15 to hitting up the gay bars as an adult, and hitting up the stalls in the bathroom at said gay clubs. It’s a routine you might expect to hear in a comedy club on an Atlantis cruise, but on a late night show like Conan? It’s very bold, both of him and of Conan for giving him the showcase.
