Twilight mastermind Stephenie Meyer has acquired the rights to a budding new Ya franchise. Entitled Anna Dressed in Blood, the supernatural romance has already plucked its leading stars in fresh-faced newcomers Maddie Hasson (I Saw the Light) and Gotham‘s Cameron Monaghan.

Working under her Fickle Fish Films banner, Meyer will nurture the adaptation of Kendare Blake’s novel series, with Step Up director Trish Sie at the helm and Allison Wood on screenwriting duties.

Remaining very much in the soppy-meets-supernatural wheelhouse for Meyer, Anna Dressed in Blood spans two relatively successful novels, telling the spooky tale of one Cas Lowood. Inheriting his family’s expertise of the paranormal, Cas’ sole objective is to kill the dead and save the living, but that all changes when he encounters a seemingly vengeful spirit known as Anna.

Fresh faces Maddie Hasson (ABCFamily series 'Twisted', I Saw The Light) and Cameron Monaghan (Showtime Networks series "Shameless', Fox series'Gotham') have been cast in the new film from Fickle Fish Films producers Stephenie Meyer and Meghan Hibbett, it wasannounced today by The Solution Entertainment Group's Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel.

Nestel and Wilson are producing with Meyer and Hibbett and are financing the project. The Solution will introduce the film to buyers and handle international sales at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes. UTA Independent Film Group represents theUS rights and packaged the project.

Lisa Wilson and her team will kick off sales in Cannes on the Ya property that Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer and her Fickle Fish Films partner Meghan Hibbett will produce.

Wilson and The Solution Entertainment Group partner Myles Nestel also produce the supernatural romance and are financing the project, which has been earmarked for a November production start.

Rising stars Maddie Hasson (pictured) and Cameron Monaghan will lead the cast of Anna Dressed In Blood, about a spirit hunter and a furious and lethal female ghost who realise they may be able to help with each other’s complicated existences.

Meyer optioned the book from author Kendare Blake and developed the project through Fickle Fish Films.

Music video director Trish Sie, whose feature credits include Step Up All In, will direct from a screenplay by Allison Wood.

UTA Independent Film Group packaged the project and will represent Us rights.

"Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer is set to produce a film adaptation of Kendare Blake's young adult supernatural novel series "Anna Dressed in Blood" at Fickle Fish Films.

Cameron Monaghan ("Shameless") will play a young man who kills the dead, armed with his father's mysterious dagger. He stumbles upon a ghost, played by Maddie Hasson ("Twisted"), who has killed every person who dared to step into the deserted Victorian house she used to call home.

She decides to spare his life and the two realise that they may have finally found the one person who can help them unravel their complicated pasts, and survive their complicated present.

Trish Sie ("Step Up: All In") will direct from a screenplay written by Allison Wood. Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel will also produce and shooting begins in November.
