  • His public performing music career started on the local Channel Seven Perth Telethon, where he sang in 2006-2008, including a duet with Guy Sebastian, the winner of Australian Idol (2003) 2003.

  • He attended Carmel School, a private Modern Orthodox school in Perth which offered religious and cultural Jewish education as well as conventional secular education.   • His parents are Laurelle Mellet (a stay at home mom/homemaker) and Shaun Mellet (a Real Estate agent).
  • Due in large part to his huge YouTube and other social media presence, Time Magazine (USA) named him as one of the "25 Most Influential Teens of 2014.".
  • In 2018, with his partner/boyfriend Jacob Bixenman, he became a dog owner of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Nash.
