On June 29, a father jumped off the deck of a Disney cruise to save his daughter, who had fallen overboard.

The cruise ship, the Disney Dream, was making a stop at Disney’s private island, Lookout Cay, at Lighthouse Point while on the way back to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after a four-night trip in the Bahamas.

The Disney Cruise Line issued a statement on the incident: “The Crew aboard the ‘Disney Dream’ swiftly rescued two guests from the water. We commend our crew members for their exceptional skills and prompt actions, which ensured the safe return of both guests to the ship within minutes. We are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests. This incident highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols.”

The child in question was sitting on the rail of the cruise ship while her father was taking photos.
