Bad Newz Review: A Comedy Lost in Translation
Image
As the title suggests, Bad Newz tells a story that is as complex as it is thought-provoking. Saloni, played by Tripti Dimri, finds herself with an unexpected pregnancy—not just one baby, but twins, each fathered by a different man. Yes, you read that right. Saloni’s ex-husband Akhil and her current flame Gurbir are both potential dads due to a rare medical phenomenon.

Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film was released in 2024, starring Vicky Kaushal as Akhil and Ammy Virk as Gurbir alongside Dimri. Steeped in themes of relationships, family dynamics, and a woman’s right to choose, Bad Newz had all the markings of an insightful drama.

Color me skeptical but hopeful. A story touching on such nuanced issues deserves sensitive handling. If the movie can use its quirky situation to shine a light on modern relationships and women’s autonomy, it will prove thought-provoking. But if lightweight...

German actress Suzanne Bernert, who plays the role of Mr X in ‘Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan’, says that she loves being part of the project and added that her character is fierce and multi-layered. “On October 29, I started shooting with Shabir Ahluwalia, Neeharika Roy, Sambhabana Mohanty, Swati Shah, and the little girl who plays Gungun (Reeza Choudhary). Staying unique while entering dad’s territory: Director Akhil Sathyan interview
Image
InterviewIn an interview with Tnm, Akhil Sathyan discusses how he made his mark despite his famous last name, how Fahadh Faasil came to star in ‘Paachuvum’ after the initial plan with Nivin Pauly, and more. The story, Akhil Sathyan was sure, would not be confined to the familiar territories of Kerala. It would spread to Mumbai, to Goa, to the trains along the way. That and his documentary making experience was going to make people look beyond the ‘feel-good’ genre that his first film as a director would be categorised as, he knew. When Paachuvum Albuthavilakkum finally came out after three years of hard work, that’s just what happened – people did look beyond the genre that Akhil’s famous father, filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, is known for. They saw a well-made film, and a fresh and unique treatment of a not-so-unusual theme. “That is one reason I took it away...

NCIS : Los Angeles (2009)
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 Episode 16 Review: Sleeping Dogs
NCIS : Los Angeles (2009)
Nothing is ever simple for Callen, is it?

Grisha's mysterious history popped up once again to make his life difficult on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 Episode 16.

And, not at all surprisingly, Hetty may or may not have been part of this case of the week.

Even from thousands of miles away, Hetty still can pull strings. That was likely the case here, but who can confidently say?

This episode ticked off a couple of items from the ongoing-storyline lists. Hetty was actually brought up repeatedly, and the Drona Project is the central storyline.

So the series wasn't simply treading water for a change, which is a nice touch in a final season.

Even better, this was an episode featuring Shyla, who has managed to become an integral, recurring character over the past couple of seasons.

Shyla has managed to replace Nell and Eric, someone in Ops who can run an investigation flawlessly,...
