Anthony Mackie steps into the title role for the fourth movie in the MCU’s Captain America series, following the events of TV’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, somewhat unexpectedly, the film also turns out to be a direct sequel to The Incredible Hulk, albeit one without Bruce Banner in it. The result, unfortunately, is something of a mixed bag.

A new gag reel from behind the scenes of the latest MCU sequel, Captain America: Brave New World, shows what happens when Harrison Ford gets angry...and it’s hilarious. The Star Wars actor joined the world of Marvel this year, taking over the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross following the passing of William Hurt. Now President of the United States, Ross finds himself becoming part of the superhero world more than ever after transforming into the Red Hulk. Something that Ford had to act out on set. As you’d expect, the memes practically make themselves.
You can check out the gag reel from Captain America: Brave New World below, which also finds the likes of Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, and more in some pretty uncomfortable positions as they work hard to bring the wonders of the MCU to life on the big screen. The standout though is acting veteran Harrison Ford,...

After a bumpy ride through production, Captain America: Brave New World reached theatres on February 14th – and over the last two months, it has earned about $413 million at the global box office. Now, SuperHeroHype has learned that the film is set to receive a digital release next week, on April 15th, with the 4K Uhd, Blu-ray, and DVD release to follow on May 13th.
The film went into production in March of 2023, with filming lasting through June. In December of ’23, another screenwriter was brought onto the project to write new material for reshoots, which seemed to be quite substantial. It was said that the reshoots were primarily done to rework three major action sequences – and this included adding Giancarlo Esposito into the mix as Sidewinder, the leader of the Serpent Society, while also dropping a Serpent Society character that was played by wrestler Seth Rollins.

Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters this week. The Marvel Cinematic Universe movie formally introduces Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) as the new Captain America, taking over from the retired Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). Wilson first picked up the shield in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but this is his first outing as Captain America on the big screen.
The film is directed by Julius Onah and written by the teams of Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, and Onah and Peter Glanz. The cast includes Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Giancarlo Esposito, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (taking over the role from the late William Hurt), who makes a much-anticipated transformation into Red Hulk in the film — a decision that didn’t sit well with MCU filmmaker Joe Russo.

Chicago – In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Iron Man may have started it all, but it was Captain America who provided the beating heart that carried it through and helped broaden it beyond just Tony Stark snark. These days, as Marvel movies have been a little lost at sea, this first Captain America movie since “Civil War” operates as a bit of a back-to-basics reset.
Taking over the shield for Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America is still a little wary of his new role … working for the government and one time adversary, Thaddeus Ross, who is now U.S. President. President Ross is trying to negotiate an international treaty, but things go haywire when “super soldier” Isiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) tries to assassinate him in the White House. In the span of about three minutes, Captain America figures out it’s a case of mind control, and sets...

With Captain America: Brave New World set to hit theaters in just over two weeks, writer Rob Edwards - who worked on the script along with Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, Peter Glanz and director Julius Onah - has taken to social media to hype up the next MCU movie.
"This movie was a ton of fun to write," Edwards posted on Instagram. "The Marvel sandbox is unparalleled, and the producers there are the best and the brightest. The movie comes out next month, but advanced tickets are on sale now. I can’t wait for you guys to see it. I’m hoping this movie will be to young men what The Princess and the Frog was to young women."
Though Edwards doesn't directly compare Brave New World to The Princess and the Frog, the reference has raised a few eyebrows. While this mention might seem a bit random, it's...

The next addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to reach theatres on February 14, 2025 – and this one is going to be keeping viewers in theatres for a shorter time than previous films in the Captain America franchise have. Theatre listings have revealed that Captain America: Brave New World has a running time of 118 minutes, so it comes in at 6 minutes shorter than Captain America: The First Avenger (124 minutes), 18 minutes shorter than Captain America: The Winter Soldier (136 minutes), and 30 minutes shorter than Captain America: Civil War (148 minutes). While it ranks on the lower end of Marvel Cinematic Universe running times, there are several MCU movies that are shorter than 118 minutes: The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and The Marvels.

In May, Rollins was spotted on set and appeared to be playing a member of the villainous Serpent Society. But in December of ’23, another screenwriter was brought onto the project to write new material for reshoots, and those reshoots seemed to be quite substantial, lasting from May 2024 through November. We know that the story still involves the Serpent Society; in fact, the reshoots added Giancarlo Esposito into the mix as Sidewinder, the leader of the Serpent Society… but for some reason, Rollins’ character no longer fit into the reworked story.

William Hurt had said he was "really excited" to return as Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross for the fifth time in Captain America: Brave New World prior to his unexpected death in 2022.
Producer Nate Moore discussed the new Captain America movie and details about the Red Hulk with Entertainment Weekly (via The Direct), and how he spoke with Hurt about returning as Ross, who is now President in the new film.
"He was very excited to come back, to be quite frank. When he passed, it was a surprise. You figure out if it's worth proceeding with the story you have or trying something else."
Hurt played "Thunderbolt" Ross in five MCU movies, starting with The Incredible Hulk in 2008, when he was a General. He returned as Secretary of State Ross eight years later in Captain America: Civil War. He followed that up in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: End Game, and Black Widow.

No one in my building wears suits anymore,” says a very well-dressed senior executive at a big agency, when asked if he still gets his suits made. But the trend away from more structured, tailored clothing and toward smarter casual wear hasn’t lessened the desire for having one’s clothes made to measure. In fact, it’s opened up a whole new arena for menswear enthusiasts, with a crop of shops in L.A. ready to make not only a well-fitting custom suit but everything you’d want to wear — from a pair of perfectly cut five-pocket pants to a creamy-to-the-touch vicuña wool shirt jacket — just for you.

Claire Foy and Richard E. Grant are set to lead a new period drama directed by Peter Glanz.

Exclusive: Oscar-shortlisted Panamanian filmmaker Abner Benaim (Plaza Catedral) is gearing up to direct a feature adaptation of Nemesis, the final bestseller by Philip Roth to be published prior to the famed author’s 2018 passing.
Dealing with such timely themes as an epidemic and antisemitism, Nemesis was described in The New Yorker as having “the elegance of a fable and the tragic inevitability of a Greek drama.” The novel published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in October of 2010 is set in the summer of 1944, examining the impact of a polio epidemic on a Newark, NJ community and its children.
Peter Glanz (The Longest Week) adapted the screenplay. Pablo Larraín, Juan de Dios Larraín and Andrew Hevia will produce for Fabula — the production company behind Foreign Language Oscar winner A Fantastic Woman, the Kristen Stewart starrer Spencer, and the upcoming drama Maria starring Angelina Jolie. Fernando Loureiro produces for Tigresa.

Kevin Harrison Jr. (“Cyrano”) is set to star as the late American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in the new biopic “Samo Lives.” The announcement was made on the film’s website.
Julius Onah is set to write, direct and produce the biopic. Onah reunites with Harrison who previously collaborated on Independent Spirit Award-nominated film “Luce.” Onah co-wrote the script with Peter Glanz.
“Samo Lives” was developed by Endeavor Content and the biopic will tell and celebrate the incredible origins and global legacy of the New York-born, Haitian-Puerto Rican American artist, whose seminal paintings and street art defined the Neo-expressionism arts movement in the 1980s.
“Jean-Michel Basquiat redefined the idea of who ascends to the highest altitudes of the fine art world. But the complexity and richness of his experience as an artist and child of the African Diaspora has yet to be dramatized in the manner it deserves,“ Onah said in a statement.

J.J. Abrams may be busy directing Star Wars 9, but that doesn't mean he's too busy to add a ton of new projects to his producing slate. His company Bad Robot has officially lined up six new movie projects, which are being developed using a discretionary fund that Abrams has set up through his deal at Paramount. These projects are quite varied, including several new horror and sci-fi movies, as well as a movie from Grammy-nominated rapper Logic. Sadly, from the descriptions in place, none of them sound like possible Cloverfield sequels. Unless they are planning a pretty big twist to the franchise narrative.
First up is Everything Must Go, which comes from Bobby Hall, aka Logic, who is co-writing the movie with Lisa McQuillan (Black-Ish). The movie is being pitched as "Clerks for a new generation." Logic is also set to star in the movie. Also on Bad Robot's new slate is The Steps,...

Jeff Goldblum has joined Michael Sheen and Michelle Monaghan in an upcoming new dramady thriller called Price of Admission.
The story centers on "a middling playwright (Sheen) amidst a mid-life crisis and failing marriage. His wife (Monaghan) is tired of being second fiddle to his work — she wants a family. But incapable of functioning in reality, he submerges himself in an elaborate play about his life. The only person who understands his plight is his best friend, Alexander Taft (Goldblum), a behavioral psychologist with a mid-life crisis of his own."
The movie has a solid cast and it sounds like an interesting story, but in the end, I'll watch anything with Jeff Goldblum in it! He'll next be seen in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Price of Admission is being directed by Peter Glanz (The Longest Week).

Jeff Goldblum is joining Michael Sheen and Michelle Monaghan in writer-director Peter Glanz’s comedy-drama “The Price of Admission.”
Producers are Neda Armian of Armian Pictures, Alex Foster, and Glanz. Radiant Films International president and CEO Mimi Steinbauer made the announcement on Tuesday.
“The Price of Admission” is in the tradition of “Being John Malkovich” and “Birdman” — a story that’s part dramedy, part existential thriller. Sheen will portray a middling playwright undergoing a midlife crisis whose wife (Monaghan) grows weary of playing second fiddle to his work. But he’s incapable of functioning in reality and submerges himself in an elaborate play about his life. The only person who understands him is his best friend, portrayed by Goldblum, a behavioral psychologist undergoing a midlife crisis of his own.
Radiant Films International is handling foreign rights to the movie, which was presented to buyers at last year’s Cannes Film Market.
