Biography

Originally a Bengali, Bhatia was born in Orissa, India but moved to Delhi when she was a month old. As a child, she was trained in classical Odissi dancing but has admitted that she finds western dance forms difficult

Educational Qualifications-Graduate in English Literature, Delhi University Languages known-English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Oriya and elementary knowledge of Urdu and Russian

-Diploma in Indian classical dance (Odissi)-Trained in Theatre -An active Theatre enthusiast..trained under the guidance of Padmavibhushan Shri Ebrahim Alkazi Acted in plays .'A streecar named Desire' 'Death of a Salesman','Wada Chirebandi' 'Desire under the Elms', 'Going Solo','Vagina Monologues' ,'Mahatma v/s Gandhi' ,'Mad about Money' ,,'Blame it on Yashraj', ''Amavas se Amaltas'..'Salaam Noni Appa'..Khatijabai of Karmali Terrace(one actor play)

International Projects; -Collaboration with Durban Playhouse (South Africa) on play "Mahatma V/S Gandhi (played Kasturba Gandhi)year 1998-Siwela Songke dance company invited me to play the lead in the dance theatre production of "Siddhartha" (Herman Hesse)for Grahamstown Festival . (won the most Inspiring artiste)

-Under the auspices of ICCR ..travelled to Europe for performance of Odissi 1993 -Television Advertisement -Main model in Lux Inferno..

-A known face on Hindi GEC & has been a part of Indian Television playing leads & now pivotal characters...'Kanyadaan','Kahaani Ghar Ghar ki'..''Kasauti','Sindoor','Jassi Jaisi koi Nahi','Sabki Laadli Bebo','Maayka',' and recently 'Sasural Simar ka'..'InternetwalaLove' -Concept Development & creating Characters for Television & Digital Software... -Given Voice to characters like Kaikeyi in Ramayana and Gandhari in Mahabharat and also Devikatha in the Radio Productions for 104FM..
