  • Denis Leary discovered Anthony Perullo after a tirade he had during a 12 step meeting and asked him if he could do that on his show? He responded with," ugh now I got to learn a new career. He was then 40 years old and not interested in Becoming an actor but said what the hell. It turned into a regular role as Derek, Tommys AA Sponsee.
  • Anthony Perullo dropped out of high school, earned a GED, a degree in Business and a degree in Biochemistry from Stonybrook University. He then spent several semesters in a Caribbean medical school before deciding to get married and become a dairy farmer.
  • Anthony Perullo put the first dairy farm on Long Island after several decades. Captain Kid Dairy, Strategically placed within the North fork's booming wine region, was in operation four years. It quickly became an agro-tourism attraction, manufacturing farmstead cheese and bottling raw milk. Perullo was featured in The NY Times, Newsday, as well as Gourmet Magazine. He soon found he could not keep up with the demand for his products and began a one-hundred fold expansion. Fate intervened on September 11, 2001 and Perullo shut the operation down to volunteer at the New York City Morgue. A year later he walked away having lost his passion for the bucolic life.
