The Way Home’s Del did not arrive in Port Haven in 1974 pregnant, the showrunners have confirmed.

If you didn’t know, viewers wondered whether young Del was pregnant after she got sick during her first date with Colton (Jordan Doww) on a boat, and again while riding in his truck. She was also sent to the small town by her parents and seemed sad while discussing the past, perhaps also suggesting she had a secret baby.

Showrunners Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke admitted it was “never even a thought that entered our minds” to TVLine.

“Sorry about that!” Alexandra said with a laugh.

The story of the Landry family will continue. Hallmark Channel has renewed The Way Home for a fourth season. The show's third season, which has 10 episodes, finishes airing tomorrow night.

In December, Hallmark announced that The Way Home would become a Hallmark+ exclusive, and cable viewers would have to subscribe to the service or wait until September to see the episodes on the Hallmark Channel. That didn't go over well, and many viewers threatened to boycott the show. Hallmark Channel acquiesced, and season three is airing on the regular cable channel. The Way Home fans got lucky on Friday the 13th. That is because Hallmark has reversed their decision to premiere The Way Home Season 3 on their rebranded streaming channel, Hallmark+. Instead, they will debut each episode on the Hallmark Channel, then drop them on the streamer the next day.

According to Variety, the executives reversed this decision “after hearing from the many passionate, loyal fans.” The network saw that fans were complaining “particularly in Facebook groups.” The fans of the series that stars Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, and Sadie Laflamme-Snow felt “forced” to subscribe to yet another streaming service.

The Way Home fans have spoken — and Hallmark executives have listened. A couple of weeks after it was announced that the popular Hallmark Channel series starring Andie MacDowell will migrate from the linear cable network to Hallmark+ for its upcoming third season, the decision has been reversed.

Instead of debuting Jan. 2 exclusively on Hallmark+ as previously announced, with a run on Hallmark Channel in fall 2025, Season 3 will premiere Jan. 3 on the cable network and will be available on the subscription streaming service the next day.

The Way Home, which also stars Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams and Sadie Laflamme-Snow, is the No. 1 most-watched program overall on entertainment cable among homes, viewers and women and persons 18+, per Hallmark.

Last month, Variety broke the news that the hit series was moving to Hallmark+, the company’s new streaming service, for its third season, debuting in January. It was set to make its linear debut in the fall.

However, “after hearing from the many passionate, loyal fans,” the show will now premiere on Hallmark Channel on Friday, January 3, at 9 p.m, and will stream the next day on Hallmark+. Devoted audience members of “The Way Home” had been grumbling — particularly in Facebook groups — about the idea of being forced to subscribe to another streaming service, with some even threatening to boycott the show. Since the cliffhanger at the end of season 2, The Way Home fans have been impatiently waiting for news of the release of season 3.

The good news is that season 3 is set to premiere in January 2025 on Hallmark+. The bad news is that those watching on Hallmark Channel will have some time to wait.

On Monday, TV Line reported that The Way Home Season 3 has an official premiere date. The hit time-travel series premieres on Thursday January 2, 2025. Moreover, this is not the Hallmark Channel premiere date. Season 3 is premiering on Hallmark+, the rebranded streaming channel.

Furthermore, the announcement revealed that there will be a Hallmark Channel premiere date, but it will be in the Fall 2025.
