Born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, Frederick K. Johnson is a union-affiliated actor with a vibrant background in theater, television, film, commercials, and print. He was also an enthusiastic film critic and interviewer for Medium Rare TV & Film, a San Francisco-based platform celebrating diversity in TV and film. Frederick's training journey includes prestigious institutions like the American Conservatory, Second City in Chicago, improvisation programs at the Player's Workshop in Chicago, IL, and the Berkeley Repertory School of Theatre in Berkeley, CA.

Over the years, Frederick has graced TV screens in shows like Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Trauma, and Investigation Discovery's "I (Almost) Got Away With It." He's lit up commercials for the University of Phoenix, Oaks Card Club, Umpqua Bank, and the Bernard Law Group. Frederick started his academic journey in Civil Engineering at the University of Wisconsin but later explored options at Ohio State, Morehouse College, and Marquette University after near-fatal accidents during an engineering internship. In an unexpected turn, Frederick considered becoming a fighter pilot in the United States Marine Corps, but he eventually chose scholarship opportunities at Marquette University and the freedom of sleeping in.

Frederick holds a BA in Economics from Marquette University, an MS in Computer Information Systems from Boston University, and a PhD in Information Systems from Claremont Graduate University. During his time at Marquette, he was a recognized McNair Scholar, a prominent student leader, and a friendly troublemaker with the Dean of Students. In 2002, Frederick declared his intention to become an actor, which initially raised eyebrows but later garnered attention when he landed the "Summer Fest" national TV commercial and with the indie film "Getting' Grown" in 2004, written and directed by Arron Greer. Today, Frederick has taken a break from the entertainment industry as a versatile actor working across Los Angeles, Sacramento, and the San Francisco Bay area.

While Frederick resides with his family in Temecula Valley, California, these days, Frederick is working as a Global MES Program and Project Manager and Strategic Advisor serving the life science industries. In addition to his thriving consulting career, Frederick finds time to teach as a part-time lecturer at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His athletic ability extends to mixed martial arts, although he humorously admits to being a terrible golfer. In his leisure time, he enjoys crafting screenplays and short stories. His childhood Porsche dream took a detour when he nearly crashed one during a valet gig, opting for the thrill of BMW's ultimate driving machine instead.

Yet, Frederick's journey has had its challenges, as he's faced racial profiling while driving nice cars, leading him to choose a Volkswagen iD.4 while cherishing the moments of not having to stop for gas as the authorities look the other way.
