Image
Twisted Metal episodes 10-12 round out the second season. They take us through the tournament conclusion with plenty of fun action, silly puns, and more backstory. I’m more intrigued by Calypso than ever, though his laugh will forever be goofy.

Of course, bullets fly and flames reach skyward as cars fly over the racecourses. Here’s the lowdown on these three episodes.

Twisted Metal Episode 210 - "M4YH3M" - Pictured: Cars | Peacock Episode 10: “M4YH3M”

The afterparty begins beneath dark skies with purple lightning strikes. Each driver is given an envelope with the name of another driver. If they eliminate that driver, they move on to the final round.

Image
Superman Worldwide Box Office (Photo Credit – Instagram)

In addition to earning positive reviews from both critics and audiences, James Gunn’s Superman reboot exceeded earlier box office projections, becoming 2025’s first comic book movie to surpass the $600 million global mark. It also recently entered the top ten Warner Bros. releases in the U.S. After seven weeks in theaters, its current run is winding down, and footfalls have naturally declined.

As the David Corenswet-led superhero film approaches the end of its global box office journey, it continues to break records and outgross earlier blockbusters. Now, it is steadily closing in on the massive Chinese sci-fi action hit The Wandering Earth II...

James Gunn Reveals the Surprising DC Character Who Isn’t Part of the Justice Gang
Image
James Gunn's Superman movie has introduced the Justice Gang, a group of metahumans under Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn) who want to do good. But, according to the DC filmmaker, not everyone is part of this team, including a staple in the DC Universe that many fans are keen to see return following the reboot.

A fan noticed that Batman's existence wasn't teased in Peacemaker Season 2 and wondered if it was because Gunn didn't want to include him during that scene that retconned the old timeline. In reality, he was never involved to begin with. According to Gunn, Batman isn't part of the Justice Gang, but it was vague...

Superman Outgrosses All But One Dceu Movie In North America After Passing $600 Million Worldwide
Image
This weekend, Superman grossed $3.4 million in North American theaters, despite being available on Digital platforms. With a $347 million cume at the domestic box office, the Man of Steel has reached an impressive DC milestone.

Now that it's passed Aquaman's $335.1 million haul, the movie has outgrossed every DC Extended Universe movie, aside from 2017's Wonder Woman ($412.6 million). While international numbers have not been as strong—the Chinese box office is no longer the guaranteed money maker it once was—Warner Bros Discovery and DC Studios will surely be happy with this level of success.

For starters, it proves there's still interest in the brand despite a rough few years, and James Gunn...

David Corenswet's Superman Audition Tape Features Alternate Version Of Lois Lane Interview Scene
Image
David Corenswet's audition tape for James Gunn's Superman has been released online, and it sees the actor performing one of the Dcu reboot's standout scenes with his wife reading Lois Lane's dialogue.

In the movie, this sequence finds Supes getting increasingly agitated as Lois asks him about his decision to interject himself in the escalating conflict between Boravia and Jarhanpur. This early version of the scene is scripted a little differently, with some alternate dialogue from both characters. Clark also keeps his cool, and the scene ends with him preparing to leave as Lane gives him the "silent treatment."

Though Corenswet's take on the legendary DC Comics hero was mostly well-received,...

Box Office Milestone: ‘Superman’ First Superhero Pic of Year to Fly Past $600 Million Globally
Image
Superman has become the first superhero pic to soar past the $600 million mark at the 2025 global box office in a morale boost for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s Warner Bros.-owned DC Studios. Gunn also directed the film.

The big-budget tentpole achieved the feat early Friday morning after finishing Thursday with $599.6 million in global ticket sales, including $343.6 million domestically and $256 million overseas. This weekend, F1: The Movie will — from Apple Original Films and released in partnership with Warners — will also blow past the $600 million mark at the worldwide box office. That Formula One pic’s performance has been far more of a surprise, considering racing movies have often struggled, whereas superhero films are considered far more of a sure bet, or were. While easily ranking as the top-grossing comic book movie of the year so far, Superman hasn’t been able to escape kryptonite altogether as superhero fatigue continues to make audiences more discerning.

Superman: James Gunn Is Relieved By Movie's Success; No Longer Concerned With "Life And Death Of The DC Brand"
Image
When Superman arrived in theaters last month, it received positive reviews (83% on Rotten Tomatoes), and looks set to end 2025 as the year's highest-grossing superhero movie with over $600 million worldwide.

The blockbuster may not be a $1 billion hit, but for a brand that was on life support after flops like The Flash and Joker: Folie à Deux, Superman's success is a big win for DC Studios. Now, all eyes will be on Supergirl and Clayface next year to see whether they can keep this momentum going.

In a new interview, DC Studios co-ceo and Superman writer/director James Gunn was asked if he feels a sense of relief after...

Superman Director James Gunn Confirms That The Superman Saga Will Consist Of Four Movies
Image
There's a lot of intrigue surrounding James Gunn's plans for his "Superman Saga," especially as his next movie won't be a straightforward Superman sequel.

Superman was released in theaters last month, while Supergirl follows next June. Gunn has already confirmed that his mysterious sequel—that's not a sequel—is likely heading our way in 2027, but it seems that's only going to be part three of four.

In a new interview, the DC Studios co-ceo pondered his wider plans for the Dcu and said in passing, "What is the long-term story I’m telling here? What is the story that I'm gonna tell about Superman over four movies?"

Gunn's approach to building a shared world is certainly very different from the MCU and a far cry from Warner Bros.' previous attempt with the Dceu. Whether he and Peter Safran will find the success they desire remains to be seen.

Superman No Longer Stands A Chance Of Beating Man Of Steel At The Worldwide Box Office
Image
Superman hasn't been a box office flop (it will end 2025 as easily the year's highest-grossing superhero movie), but even with a guaranteed $600 million haul, it's also not a huge hit for DC Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery.

As recently as last month, NBC reported that Superman was awarded $11,091,686 in tax credits through its Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit application, with "Ohio-related expenses were projected to exceed $36 million, which made up about 10% of the movie’s total budget of more than $363 million."

If the budget was that high, then Superman has likely barely broken even. Still, there will be money to be made from its many promotional partners, merchandise, and the recent Digital release.

However, that surprise Digital debut—which Gunn claimed is Peacemaker season 2 related—has done Superman's box office prospects no favours. As of yesterday, the Dcu reboot was at $594.6 million worldwide and will hit $600 million by the end of this weekend,...

Jenna Ortega's Underseen Dark Fantasy Finally Returns to Steaming Charts After Box Office Failure
Image
Movies that have a successful afterlife on streaming after a rocky box office run aren't quite as rare as unicorns, but one such mystical beast has returned to the streaming charts. Death of a Unicorn, the fantastical black comedy featuring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega as a father-daughter duo who have a deadly run-in with a creature of myth, is back in the HBO Max top ten after falling off the charts.

Distributed by indie production company A24, Death of a Unicorn was released in March to mixed reviews. It currently holds a 53% Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but Collider's Nate Richard got more out of the film than most.

Superman Director James Gunn Explains Why Clark Kent Doesn't Have The Same "Redneck" Accent As His Parents
Image
We've seen quite a few interpretations of Clark Kent's adoptive parents over the years in live-action and animation, on the big and small screens, but James Gunn's Superman is the first time Jonathan and Martha Kent have been depicted with strong accents.

When Clark is chatting to his parents on the phone, we learn that Ma and Pa Kent speak with pronounced (some might say slightly exaggerated) southern accents, whereas their son has a more neutral, metropolitan accent despite being raised in Smallville.

It's not exactly a huge deal, but some fans have been wondering why the Man of Steel doesn't have the same "redneck" accent as his folks.

Gunn has now taken to Threads to explain.

"Although I resent the term redneck it's the same reason I don't have the same accent my parents do. You go to college in a different city, you get mocked for it,...

James Gunn Says Next Superman Saga Movie Should Start Shooting "Much Sooner Rather Than Later"
Image
Say what you will about James Gunn, but the man is nothing if not highly motivated.

Earlier this week at the Peacemaker season 2 premiere, the Superman director shared an update on the next chapter in what he referred to as the Superman Saga. Though he declined to reveal any story details, Gunn said that he had already completed a treatment for the mysterious project.

“I’ve already finished the treatment for the next story in what I’ll call the ‘Superman Saga’. The treatment is done, which means a very, very worked out treatment. I’m working on that and hopefully going into production on that not too far away from today.”

Gunn has now shared another update with Collider, and it sounds like this movie could end up entering production much sooner than expected.

"We’re scheduling it now. I’m totally done with the treatment. My treatments are incredibly intense.

Superman Star Rachel Brosnahan's Husband Comes Under Fire For Liking Comment Insulting Her And David Corenswet
Image
This is an odd story, but one that's been gaining a lot of traction on social media and entertainment/gossip websites over the past 24 hours. Much has been said about David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan's chemistry in Superman, but they're both terrific actors, so that was surely to be expected.

Corenswet has known his wife, Julia Warner, since they were teenagers (they tied the knot in 2023), while Brosnahan married Jason Ralph in 2016.

However, with the on-screen dynamic between Clark Kent and Lois Lane still a big talking point, footage from a recent featurette with Brosnahan kissing Corenswet after filmmaker James Gunn called cut has got everyone talking.

One fan even took it upon themselves to leave a comment on one of Ralph's Instagram posts, writing, "It’s genuinely sad to see your career being tucked out to be remembered as a cuckold because your wife couldn’t handle herself with her co-actor.

Superman: A 4K Look At Milly Alcock's Supergirl And Bradley Cooper As Jor-El Has Finally Been Revealed
Image
Superman is finally available on Digital platforms, and that means we have a 4K look at Milly Alcock's Supergirl. The House of the Dragon star showed up in the movie's closing moments when the drunken Kryptonian crashed into the Fortress of Solitude to retrieve her dog, Krypto.

Alcock will reprise the role in next summer's Supergirl, though the first poster for the movie confirmed that a few minor cosmetic changes have been made to Kara's suit.

We also have some shots of Bradley Cooper and Angela Sarafyan as Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, Clark Kent's Kryptonian parents, who sent him to Earth to conquer the planet and continue their race by forming a harem.

Asked why Supergirl didn't tell her cousin about what Krypton was really like, filmmaker James Gunn recently explained, "You’re assuming that everybody on Krypton is the same! And how would she know? She’s younger than him,...

Twisted Metal season 2 episodes 6 and 7 recap and review: Backstory and intrigue among the action
Image
Twisted Metal season 2 is back this week with two new episodes, delivering surprising deaths this time around. Here’s what goes down.

S2 E6: MKAW1SH

This episode begins in John’s past, where he first encounters Calypso on a dark mountain road. There’s a bit of foreshadowing in their conversation.

The qualifying round of the tournament continues. John and Quiet go back for Mayhem, which loses them time, and she’s not keen on their help. Quiet takes out one of the other drivers with a well-placed axe. Pretty much every vehicle is damaged in the furious race.

Raven is the first to make it to New Tournament City. From her conversation with Calypso as she turns in her package, it’s clear they know one another. I’m curious to see if he’s met the other drivers. He did say he wants to “be known” or “be seen.

Superman's Digital Release Finally Gives Us A 4K Look At Ultraman Unmasked - Spoilers
Image
Superman has landed on Digital platforms, just 35 days after it arrived in theaters. Exhibitors aren't happy, and the movie's box office will take a hit, but Warner Bros. Discovery clearly feels now is the right time to shift focus to earning revenue from Digital sales.

The DC Studios reboot kept a fair bit under wraps in the trailers, and even post-release TV spots were light on spoilery footage. Now, though, we finally have an HD look at Superman's Ultraman unmasked.

During the movie, it was revealed that Lex Luthor had created a mindless clone of Superman who responded to pre-programmed fight moves and instructions. He was a formidable foe, but with a helping hand from Krypto, the Man of Tomorrow managed to send him hurtling into a black hole.

The prevailing theory is that Ultraman will eventually return as Bizarro, though whether that was filmmaker James Gunn's plan when...

Superman Director James Gunn Reveals "Complicated" Reason For The Movie's Early Digital Release
Image
Earlier this week, we learned that Superman is coming to Digital much sooner than expected on August 15. Many fans have expressed excitement to watch the movie again at home, but with the reboot performing well in theaters still, it's a baffling move on Warner Bros. Discovery's part.

Chances are, there's more money to be made from Digital sales at this stage in the movie's theatrical run. However, exhibitors aren't happy with the decision, and when Screen Rant asked James Gunn about this early release, he explained why it's "complicated."

"Well, it's very complicated, but the truth is it is because of Peacemaker," the filmmaker claimed. "I originally thought Peacemaker was going to be coming out next month. There was a lot of things that are beyond our control, so that Peacemaker is coming out now."

At the end of the day, I wanted everyone to be able to see Superman that wanted to,...

Image
James Gunn's Superman arrives on Digital platforms tomorrow, and we have a first look at three of the bonus features that will be available to watch when you rent or purchase the movie.

We also have an extended clip from the "Portal" action sequence, as Lois Lane and Mr. Terrific make their way to Lex Luthor's Pocket Universe in an attempt to rescue the Man of Steel, only to find that Krypto is already on the case... kinda.

Krypto also gets the spotlight in the first of a series of animated shorts, the first of which sees the super-pooch give chase to a particularly belligerent pigeon. Technically, the 5-minute short also features the second Dcu appearance of Superman!

Alex Scharfman's Death of a Unicornis finding a whole new kind of success as a streaming hit.

Per FlixPatrol, writer-director Alex Scharfman's 2025 fantasy horror comedy Death of a Unicorn is making a major impact on the streaming charts for one major platform. Superman Worldwide Box Office: Set To Surpass An Iconic Will Smith Sci-Fi Blockbuster
Image
Superman Worldwide Box Office(Photo Credit –YouTube)

With an impressive global haul of over $583 million, James Gunn’s Superman reboot is currently the seventh-highest-grossing movie of the year. Along the way, it has already edged past several popular 2025 releases, including Brad Pitt’s F1, Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and Sinners.

At present, Superman is just about $12 million shy of overtaking Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning at the worldwide box office. But before reaching that milestone, the David Corenswet-led superhero film is poised to surpass an iconic sci-fi film starring Will Smith. Curious to know which one? Read on to find out.

Superman Set To Outgross This Will Smith Blockbuster

After surpassing multiple global hits, the Dcu’s Superman now has its sights set on Will Smith’s widely acclaimed 1997 sci-fi blockbuster Men in Black. Here’s how the two films stack up at the box office,...

James Gunn Announces The Superman Saga: "I've Already Completed A Treatment For The Next Story"
Image
The premiere of Peacemaker season 2 is currently underway in LA, and James Gunn shared an update on the next chapter in what he refers to as the "Superman Saga" while being interviewed by THR on the red carpet.

Whether this corner of the Dcu is now officially known as the Superman Saga is not clear.

The trades have already confirmed that Gunn is working on some sort of Superman sequel (it's previously been described as being part of the "Superman Family"), and the filmmaker has now revealed that he has already completed a treatment for the project and hopes to see it enter production fairly soon.

We still don't know much about this movie, but there's a lot of speculation that it might end up focusing on the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) teaming up with Supergirl (Milly Alcock) and Krypto to face-off against Brainiac, and/or possibly The Authority.

Superman Featurette Has Fans Convinced Man Of Steel And His Cousin Will Battle Brainiac In Super-family Movie
Image
An hour-long featurette for Superman was released yesterday, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted a storyboard that may mean very little...or drop a huge clue about what's next for the Dcu's Man of Steel.

In that, we see Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto the Superdog all flying into action together, and Brainiac's unmistakable head can be glimpsed in the next shot! Filmmaker James Gunn has previously said that he considered the fan-favourite villain for Superman, meaning this could have been from a much earlier iteration of the DC Studios reboot.

Warner Bros. Discovery recently confirmed that Gunn's next Dcu movie (which he's writing and directing) will be a "Super-Family" title. The DC Studios co-ceo has repeatedly said it won't be Superman 2, and the implication seems to be that it will be a team-up project, albeit not World's Finest.

The prevailing theory now is that Superman and Supergirl will team up,...

After outperforming several 2025 titles like Brad Pitt’s F1, Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts* and Sinners, Superman is now closing in on a James Bond film starring Daniel Craig, albeit his lowest-rated 007 entry. Hour-Long "Adventures in the Making of Superman" Featurette Includes Costume Fitting, BTS Footage, More
Image
Following today's news about the movie's Digital and Blu-ray release dates, a new hour-long featurette for Superman has just landed. There's a lot to unpack here, including footage from David Corenswet's costume test...minus the red underoos and yellow belt.

Pure nightmare fuel, right? Needless to say, the red trunks were a welcome addition.

We also see the actor choosing Clark Kent's glasses, a table read with the entire cast, a bunch of behind-the-scenes content (including Superman and Lois Lane's flying kiss), and Corenswet lending his voice to the Hammer of Boravia.

It's always fun to see how a movie like this one was made, and it's been a while since we've had a "making-of" this lengthy. Marvel Studios has abandoned its "Assembled" documentaries on Disney+, but this effort from DC Studios is every bit as good as those.

With Superman's Digital approach fast approaching, you can...
