Just a few weeks after the first trailer for Sheriff Country surfaced online, the upcoming Fire Country spin-off starring Morena Baccarin got an exciting new look. As part of Collider's Exclusive Preview, we are thrilled to exclusively preview a new image of Baccarin in Sheriff Country, which has been set for a premiere on CBS on October 17. Sheriff Country will follow Mickey Fox (Baccarin), who first debuted in the second season of Fire Country, the firefighting procedural series led by Max Thieriot. Mickey Fox is the stepsister of Fire Country’s division Chief Sharon Leone, who is portrayed by Diane Farr. The show will not only follow Mickey as she grapples with keeping the people of Edgewater safe, but also see her dealing with the drama of reconnecting with her family.

CBS has dropped the first trailer for Sheriff Country, the upcoming Fire Country spinoff starring Morena Baccarin, and it’s giving fans their first real look at what’s coming. The show puts Baccarin front and center as Mickey Fox, Edgewater County’s new sheriff, who’s determined to bring some order to her hometown, even if it means stirring up trouble along the way.
The trailer opens with Mickey responding to what appears to be some kind of emergency, before shifting to small-town drama and dangerous secrets.

Fans who watched Fire Country will remember Mickey’s earlier appearance in season 2 during the backdoor pilot episode “Alert the Sheriff.” In that episode, she clashed with her estranged sister Sharon, played by Diane Farr, and even arrested her teenage nephew Bode. That tension hasn’t gone anywhere. In the trailer,...

CBS has finally dropped the first trailer for Sheriff Country, the much-talked-about Fire Country spinoff starring Morena Baccarin. The show will follow Baccarin’s character, Mickey Fox, who was first introduced in season 2 of Fire Country during the backdoor pilot episode “Alert the Sheriff.”
In that episode, viewers got a first taste of Mickey’s no-nonsense style as the Edgewater County Sheriff’s Sergeant. Now she’s stepping into her own series, and from the trailer alone, it’s clear she has her hands full.
In the trailer, we’re dropped straight into the action as Mickey is trying to defuse a dangerous situation by appealing to her familiarity with a criminal.

The scenes quickly shift to small-town drama, a mix of crime investigations, family disputes, and long-buried secrets. Mickey’s complicated personal life is just as messy as her work life.

CBS has a new franchise on its hands. Fire Country has been such a hit for the network, it’s no surprise that that universe is expanding. And that world is also growing beyond Morena Baccarin‘s Mickey Fox, with her father (W. Earl Brown) and others in the sheriff department (including CSI: Vegas vet Matt Lauria) joining her on Sheriff Country. It was soon after the first season that rumors started about a potential spinoff, and in its second, Fire Country introduced the character who would be leading it. Not even a month later, Sheriff Country was ordered to series. Now, it’s joining Fire Country on Fridays this fall, but as was revealed when CBS announced its premiere dates in July, there’s a schedule change for its first episode. So, when will it air? Will Mickey Fox appear on Fire Country again before then after her Season 3 appearance?...

Unlike most spin-offs that branch away from the parent show’s setting, the upcoming Fire Country spin-off, Sheriff Country, will do the opposite. When it premieres this fall, audiences will see new sides of Edgewater through the eyes of Sheriff Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), as she patrols the town, investigates crimes, and works to maintain peace and order. Airing back-to-back with Fire Country, the spin-off promises to expand the world of the original series. Ahead of its highly anticipated debut, a new clip has been released, offering a first look at crossover characters and teasing what viewers can expect from this next chapter.
The new clips, shared by TVLine, are part of a featurette featuring Baccarin and Fire Country star Max Thieriotas both walk audiences through the scope of the new show. According to the outlet, CBS will air several Fire Country reruns this Friday, including the backdoor pilot episode...

First look clips from Morena Baccarin's Sheriff Country tease Sheriff Mickey Fox partnering with Sharon Leone. Baccarin's Mickey Fox was first introduced to audiences in Fire Country season 2, episode 6, titled 'Alert the Sheriff,' with the episode functioning as a back-door pilot for Sheriff Country, and she appeared again in season 3.
Sheriff Country will follow Mickey as she patrols the streets of small town Edgewater, keeping the peace, solving crimes, and teaming up with other first responders to uphold the law. This post contains spoilers for Duster episode 5 on Max from this point forward.
We ended last week with Nina (Rachel Hilson) and Jim (Josh Holloway) up against it. How would they find a way forward? That was the challenge before us in this week’s episode. Let’s see how they fare in Duster season 1 episode 5.
As mentioned, Nina and Jim are in a tight spot. Nina’s boss isn’t pleased with her recent actions, which culminated in the death of a former agent. But she shares she’s close to getting an in with Saxton (Keith David), who is on the cusp of a big deal. She’s given 48-hours to make it happen.
Jim, meanwhile, is in hot water with Saxton. He lost the Howard Hughes car, which he gave away to save his life. He can’t admit the truth, so instead looks like he bungled a big job.

Let’s be honest: the story didn’t go very far this time out, but it definitely went fast.
Duster Season 1 Episode 4 is less about plot turns and more about grooves, gags, and one hell of a surprise team-up.
The show has fallen into a rhythm: cartoon open, chase scene, scattered exposition, needle drop, action set piece, rinse, repeat. But somehow, it still feels fresh, especially when the characters themselves start to lean into the absurdity.
(Ursula Coyote/Max) Jim Ellis and the Blade: Enemies, Allies, and Philosophers?
Jim wakes up with a problem: Mad Raul is sending a reaper to kill him. Enter Ernesto the Blade — a bloodstained assassin with knives in every pocket and a surprising appreciation for Russian sociology.
Their eventual bathroom brawl is pure Duster: chaotic, kinetic, and just cartoonish enough to make you laugh even as Jim is bleeding. But then something weird happens.

When Fire Country returns next fall, fans will have something extra to look forward to. The already highly anticipated spin-off series Sheriff Country will start the expansion of the franchise, with Morena Baccarin (Deadpool & Wolverine) in the lead. During a recent interview, the star talked a bit about the starting point of the new series and her approach to Mickey Fox, a character that we've already met a couple of times in the mothership series Fire Country.
During the interview with TV Insider, Baccarin talked about the set-up of Sheriff Country. Since she will be a police officer in a small town, she's bound to have to deal with the crimes of people she's known her whole life. In that scenario, it will be interesting to see how Mickey is able to navigate each case and find the best resolution for it. She stated:

The Fire Country universe expands this fall as Sheriff Country joins the flagship series. CBS has already announced that the Morena Baccarin series will finally premiere in the upcoming TV season, but having the show on the schedule makes it more real. The network has not made huge changes to the Fire Country schedule, with the show set to air on Fridays. Sheriff Country will air on the same night. Additionally, Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue will also be on the schedule. Sheriff Country kicks off the night at 8 p.m. Et with Fire Country following after in its regular time slot of 9 p.m. Et and Boston Blue at 10 p.m. Et.

There’s been so much chatter about the future of Fire Country after some significant departures that I forgot Sheriff Country was gearing up for its launch during the 2025-26 season.
All we knew about the spinoff was that Morena Baccarin would be at the wheel in the role of Mickey Fox.
We already met Mickey on Fire Country, with the mothership series revealing she is Cal Fire division chief Sharon Leone’s stepsister.
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)
It was a compelling way to connect these two universes, but beyond that, there were many questions about who else would be on Sheriff Country.
Now, we have our answer. Deadline reports that CSI: Vegas veteran Matt Lauria has scored a series regular role in the upcoming offshoot.

CSI: Vegas vet Matt Lauria is getting a badge for his next role: The actor will star opposite Morena Baccarin in the Fire Country spinoff Sheriff Country, our sister site Deadline reports.
Lauria’s Boone is the smart and capable chief deputy and right-hand man to Baccarin’s Sheriff Mickey Fox. But there is also a note of tension between them because Boone feels that he was passed over for the sheriff position.

Fire Country is making some extreme moves. Not only did the franchise shock fans by writing two main characters off the show during the season 3 finale, but it has continued to add compelling stars to its upcoming spinoff, Sheriff Country.
Sheriff Country is a spinoff that will be led by previously established character Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin). The upcoming Sheriff Country series is building out its ensemble with a procedural veteran. A new report from Variety reveals that CSI: Vegas veteran Matt Lauria has joined the cast of Sheriff Country, the Fire Country spin-off series led by Deadpool veteran Morena Baccarin. This news comes not long after it was announced that Christopher Graham and Michelle Weaver will also star in the series, which will follow Mickey Fox (Baccarin), a straight-shooting sheriff who investigates criminal activity in the small town of Edgewater while also dealing with her ex-con father (W. Earl Brown). Mickey is the stepsister of Cal Fire division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr) and the aunt of Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot), who will also work as a writer and director on the series.
Lauria can be seen in 41 episodes of CSI: Vegas as Josh Folsom, but he’s also been in plenty of other projects you might be familiar with.

With its macabre one-liners, revolving door of guest stars, and endless imagined homicides, "CSI" is one of the most recognizable network TV franchises of all time. Yet, despite well over a decade of success and extensive rerun appeal, the Anthony Zuiker-created property actually went off the air for a five year period. In 2016, the last "CSI" show that was still going, "CSI: Cyber," bowed out after just two seasons, and the TV world of the crime saga that began at the turn of the millennium went temporarily dark.
Like so many procedurals before it, "CSI" did eventually come back, offering up the Paula Newsome and Matt Lauria-led "CSI: Vegas" in 2021. That series returned to the show's trend of focusing on a different city (past hits have included "CSI: New York" and the infamously punny "CSI: Miami"), but it wasn't enough to save it. "Vegas" was canceled in 2024 after three seasons,...

Where there's a will, there's a way — and the only way that the football players of Friday Night Lights know is forward. So it's no surprise that the Universal Television-produced reboot of the iconic early 2000s series (that was itself a reboot of a movie based on a book) has found itself a streaming home at Peacock.
In a new, exclusive report from Deadline full of football-related puns, it was revealed that the deal came together over the past few days after heated bids from both Peacock and Netflix. The series will again be showrun by Jason Katims, and directed by original director Peter Berg. Producer Brian Grazer will also return to the fold, with the three men executive producing the show alongside Kristen Zolner for Imagine Entertainment.

Deadline understands that the NBCU streamer beat out Netflix to land a new adaptation of the high school football series in a competitive battle that has played out over the last few days.
Universal Television will produce the series, which comes from Jason Katims, who was the original showrunner, original director Peter Berg and producer Brian Grazer. The trio will exec produce alongside Kristen Zolner for Imagine Entertainment.
The new series, which is now in development at Peacock, will be set following a devastating hurricane, when a rag tag high school football team and their damaged, interim coach make an unlikely bid for a Texas High School State Championship and become a beacon of light for their town.

Friday Night Lights could be the next series rebooted.
A new iteration of the football drama is in the works at Universal Television with Jason Katims, Pete Berg and Brian Grazer, Deadline has confirmed.
It’s believed to be a new story, still set in the world of high school football, with new characters rather than the previous cast, which featured Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Taylor Kitsch and Jesse Plemons.
The project is in the early stages but has been taken out to market.
A reboot of Friday Night Lights, either as a series or as a movie, has been long talked about since it ended after five seasons.

[This story contains spoilers from A Man in Full and Outer Range season two.]
Between Tom Pelphrey’s two current streaming shows, one would think that the series with the shimmering time portal in the ground would have the more off-the-wall ending. But that honor instead belongs to David E. Kelley’s A Man in Full.
Adapted from Tom Wolfe’s novel, the Netflix limited series centers on Jeff Daniels’ Charlie Croker, an overextended billionaire who owes various banks over a billion dollars in overdue loans, and Pelphrey’s Raymond Peepgrass is one of the bankers who’s tired of being stepped on by Charlie both personally and professionally.
All season long, Raymond and Harry Zale (Bill Camp) are on the verge of seizing Charlie’s assets, but he works the system to his advantage to stave off collection. Frustrated, Raymond makes one last move to acquire controlling interest in Charlie’s life’s work — a building called the Concourse,...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from “Tunnel Vision,” the series finale of “CSI: Vegas,” which aired on May 19, and is now streaming on Paramount+.
“Things are about to go kaboom.” That’s what Beau (Lex Medlin) says on Sunday night’s series finale of “CSI: Vegas” as he prepares to detonate a series of bombs. But he might be describing everyone’s minds, as the show’s characters discover midway through the episode (“Tunnel Vision”) that they’ve been chasing the wrong villain all season.
With Max (Paula Newsome) kidnapped and Chris (Jay Lee) injured by some sort of nerve agent and in the hospital, the “CSI” team continues to place the blame on tech billionaire Truman Thomas (Owain Yeoman) — until they find his dead body.
It’s actually an entirely different villainous group that has taken Max through the 600 miles of flood channels that lie beneath Las Vegas.

Spoiler Alert! This story contains details from the series finale of CSI: Vegas on CBS.
Like what happened to So Help Me Todd, CSI: Vegas didn’t get a chance to wrap up its three-season run on CBS with any grand gestures or heartfelt goodbyes.
The procedural, which was a followup to the 2000 CSI series, was canceled in April so there was no time to throw together a satisfying ending. So anyone who wanted to see where Maxine’s (Paula Newsome) relationship with Dean was going will have to live with disappointment.
At least there was some positives in the episode dubbed “Tunnel Vision”: Max survived her kidnapping by a Saudi big bad (Faran Tahir) who stole intelligence from Truman Thomas’ secret lab. Chris (Jay Lee) regained consciousness after he was exposed to a nerve agent. Penny (Sarah Gilman) set a wedding date with Jack (Joel Johnstone), and Josh...

This article contains spoilers for Outer Range season 1.
There’s really nothing linear about Prime Video’s breakout science fiction/Western, Outer Range. Every time audiences assumed they had a grasp on what the show’s secrets would reveal, it would let loose a crater-sized twist, leaving fans scrambling to figure out what just happened. Even chronology isn’t linear, as the heroes of this fictional Wyoming ranch have been bucked back and forth through time like a prize bull-rider.
Yet here in the real world, fans have been patient to see the continuation of the Abbott family drama. It is certainly a loaded and layered show that deserves a rewatch to catch all the clues and mysteries of the Abbott ranch, but before the second season premieres, allow Den of Geek to recap what’s happened so far.

The crime scene investigations in Las Vegas are over at CBS. Following reports that CSI: Vegas was in serious danger of getting canceled, the bad news has now been confirmed, as CBS has axed the CSI sequel series after three seasons.
